Vote splitters please note that we currently have nominations for 8 cuts off Carly Rae's Emotion, 7 songs from Future, 5 cuts from Kendrick's To Pimp a Butterfly, 5 songs from Young Thug, 4 cuts on Ashley Monroe's The Blade, 4 cuts on Colleen Green's I Want To Grow Up, 4 cuts on Roisin Murphy's Hairless Toys, and 4 cuts on Susanne Sundfør's Ten Love Songs.

these are all what i'd think are singles-heavy albums (maybe not Green?) so it seems weird to complain about vote splitting noms as if there are a bunch of nominations for joanna newsom or destroyer or sufjan stevens tracks.

fucking silly post. wild horses could not stop me from nominating 'slowly' and putting it very high on my ballot. some albums just have loads of tracks people connect with

I'm not saying if you have a favorite album cut don't rep for it. I've nommed and voted for album cuts when they stood out above the rest of their album. It's just the people who nom a whole bunch of songs from the same album that confuse me.

maybe they love all those tracks? Looking at the kind of acts getting the multi noms its the ones that in the old days might get 4-7 singles off an album depending on how successful an album was.

i kinda agree with you rev as it can be boring if the same big acts get their songs placing above lesser known ones that might be better, but I can see WHY people do it

If i liked an album i might nominate every track otherwise I dont think I'd be able to fill a whole 30 nominations (which is far too many anyway)

Nominations don't cause vote-splitting, voting does. And artists making more than one good track in a year.

Why wouldn't they vote for the album AND the tracks? I reckon if you love 5+ tracks from an album you're going to vote for it.
