Busted flush really isn't she? As someone who thought there were only three or four really great songs on Anniemal, all interest in any subsequent releases has pretty much evaporated for me.

That would be more than enough to keep me interested in any artist.

i really like 'anthonio'! it's not going to be a hit or anything, but it's so much better than the horrific xenomania period.

this is prob entirely in keeping w/my favourite annie song being 'the greatest hit', though.

dug anniemal out again and it holds up really, really well - the only ones i've skipped are 'no easy love' and 'happy without you', which i always skipped back then as well, and 'chewing gum', which just seems a bit boring now. the production is just PERFECT.

I like pretty much all of Anniemal, the following singles, and I'd like a lot more of Don't Stop if the songs were half-done. But "Anthonio"...ugh. As a person who typically doesn't pay much attention to lyrics, those lyrics stand out as being incredibly bad and the song construction is like rubbing silverware against a metal pan to my (admittedly fickle) ears.

the penultimate double whammy of 'the greatest hit' and 'come together' just reminded me why everyone was so fucking excited about this woman. incredible.

"Anthonio" sounds really great to me, and I am really looking forward to the album. With great efforts from Röyksopp, Pet Shop Boys and Junior Boys already, 2009 seems like a marvellous year for electro.

I have listened to the Fred Falke remix of "Anthonio" about 200 times now. It's really the best thing I've heard all year I think (I searched for an ILM mention but didn't see anything).

the last two tracks there were my least favourites from v1 so losing I Can't Let Go and Sweet just seems wrong.

Agree, "Sweet" is very good. Can't even remember "Heaven and Hell"; not a good sign. Any info on who wrote/produced the new tracks? It would be a pleasant surprise it the songs were reworked a little bit. I think Don't Stop V1 really needed this.

i'm months late but anthonio is pretty much the only track ever where i've liked every remix of it i've heard

i quite liked the Annie logo from last year. this may all be 'trying too hard' a la Lil Boots in comparison (photos of both are cool tho).

I can't believe they're keeping "Heaven and Hell." I think it's the worst thing she's ever done.

So much better than the Island version.

I don't think it's tremendously different than the Island version, but the sequencing is much better.
The three new tracks are also very good, and definitely more flashy/dancey than what they replaced.
The nine tracks from Don't Stop V1 look to be left untouched.

For anyone who fancies it, Annie will be DJing in Manchester and our club 'Clique' on Friday November 27th. Her first DJ gig outside of London in the UK we think.

I Don't Like Your Band coulds be a big hit i'd have thought. Even the NME seem to think so this week, the album getting a glowing 8/10 review from them. Whatever next?!

She was pretty good last night supporting Saint Etienne, she has some stage presence now.

Yeah all round good reports from that Saint Etienne gig. She started with Chewing Gum by all accounts? I'd love to have seen that.

It's strange to me that the songs that apparently were slated to be (or were) singles when the album was with Island Records are now relegated to a bonus disc. I'm curious to know if that's because the new label and/or Annie felt the other material was much stronger, or if it's because those songs -- e.g., I Know Your Boyfriend Hates Me, Antonio -- have already had too much circulation to be suitable for a ''new'' Annie album. I also wonder if the new label and/or Annie are trying to distance the album from its time at Island Records. Anyway, I thought those singles were good!

i still remember how god awful her debut performance at the tribeca grand was. all i could think was that she needed a new stylist. those boots!!! i wish i had a pic
