Comme Si, Kamasi (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 9 November 2015 19:35 (ten years ago)

wow, never seen that one before. as far as Rod goes, about once a month i think of snoball's "'Hungover & Feeling Rough As Shit' more like" and start giggling.

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Monday, 9 November 2015 19:46 (ten years ago)

has this one made it yet?

Nice job providing photographic documentation of the exact moment they thought up that title

too young for seapunk (Moodles), Monday, 16 November 2015 23:02 (ten years ago)

oh that is a really good one imo. nice blend of 'clever' and terribly awkward.

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Monday, 16 November 2015 23:04 (ten years ago)

Yes, good one, how did I miss it?!?!

Caput Johannis in Disco (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 November 2015 00:14 (ten years ago)

haha, hilarious stuff

niels, Tuesday, 17 November 2015 13:30 (ten years ago)

popular to contrary belief is def one of the A+ ones on the thread

though Roger Miller "Making A Name For Myself" will never be topped

Amira, Queen of Creativity (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 17 November 2015 14:24 (ten years ago)

that one is perfect

niels, Wednesday, 18 November 2015 10:41 (ten years ago)

IDK I think that's the thread winner

on entre O.K. on sort K.O. (man alive), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 15:22 (ten years ago)

i really seriously couldn't believe it when i found that roger miller. my hands were shaking. if i ever see a copy in real life i'm buying it on the spot, at any price.

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 15:34 (ten years ago)

haha I think "at any price" for post-prime Roger Miller abums won't break the bank too much

Amira, Queen of Creativity (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 18:00 (ten years ago)

AT ANY PRICE

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 18:02 (ten years ago)

Listening to the single, "The Hat," I may live to regret this vow. I mean, his voice is still a classic, but the chintzy late-70s backing track is pretty lame and I miss his trademark vocal goofery. Deep cut "Hey Would You Hold It Down" is more alarming with the Supertramp keyboards. One is about where a guy got his cool hat ("if I ask it nice / would you tell me twice?") and the other is about a middle-aged Roger wishing the neighbors would keep it down while he's trying to sleep. Sorry for party rockin', Rog!

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 18:11 (ten years ago)

David Crosby was in Mason Profit!?!?!

Jesus Krist of Novoselic (C. Grisso/McCain), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 23:26 (ten years ago)

"Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" is an old folkie peace song - I'll give them that one.

Frump 'n' Dump (Doctor Casino), Wednesday, 18 November 2015 23:50 (ten years ago)

(actually kind of amazing there are no "profit" puns in their discography. Sharing Proffit would make a good modern-day compilation I think.)

now i feel bad - apparently the title track, a cover, did in fact get to #6 in the UK. bully for ol' fred. just watched a TOTP performance with a particularly unenthused crowd.

Doctor Casino, Sunday, 22 November 2015 02:55 (ten years ago)

How could he have passed on the opportunity to call it Out of Wedlock?

I was looking at Tony Capstick's wiki page last week and was stuck by this photo of a memorial to him in Swinton
