I am just now listening to the LP version of "The Mystery Zone" and I think I actually prefer the truncated CD version. That abrupt mid-word cutoff is just hilarious.

Gimme Fiction was the first Spoon album I listened to seriously. I bought it on its release date to review it for a tiny local paper in the back woods of New Hampshire. I had heard the first three and I think I had played Kill the Moonlight once, so Gimme Fiction was really out of left field compared to what I expected. I fell in love before the end of the first chorus.

I really like the way they call out other songs on the album in the first track on the album. None of their other records are thematically linked like that.
