i like how 'Tired of all these one-album-wonder bands who are forgotten about before you've reached the end of their album!' has an exclamation mark not a question mark!as if the guy is from the 17th century, striking the board and crying 'no more!'.

lol at the cameo appearance by the guy who plays the vet in Emmerdale. we should have a thread for the most underwhelming 'celebrity' cameos in pop videos, Neil Kinnock in Tracey Ullman's 'My Guy' etc

watched a few more videos and I'm starting to suspect that the Zutons have cut their hair and got a new name in an attempt to make people think that this is a different band

Inspiral Carpets legend Clint Boon said: "Alias Kid have the potential to be one of THE great Manchester bands. Just give 'em time. And some decent beer. They're as exciting as Oasis. As edgy as Kasabian. As soulful as the Verve. I love 'em to bits."

That Mirror write-up has a decent shot at the "worst piece of music writing" thread. And is "indy" really the preferred spelling?

They look like same type of people you can/could see wandering down Camden High street at any point in the last few decades, with their regulation painfully tight bollock cruncher jeans and winklepickers.
― xelab, Monday, 19 October 2015 17:37 (ten years ago)
"Anthemic choruses and shimmering guitars reminiscent of U2 in their prime, Judas are the realdeal. If you're looking for an antidote to unambitious guitar bands, get on them."

The Assist are a 4 piece indie/alternative band from Walsall. The lads have a huge passion for real music, and their honest, hard hitting lyrics speak for themselves. It’s music that anyone can identify with from sing along anthems to infectious guitar riffs.
If you like your indie rock served with an energetic finish and a midlands accent, The Assist will effortlessly float your boat.

Birmingham band HANKKS channel the best indie rock and roll that has come before them into new single, ‘Stepping Stone’, to create a pleasingly refreshing tune, with a frontman who even looks a little bit like early Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner.
In what are early days for this new band they have brought out a single which electrifies from the first few bars of drumming. Even after multiple plays the groovy guitar hook that bursts in after the intro and plays through most of the song is very infectious and memorable. The song has assured and abrasive vocals echoing Liam Gallagher, and lyrics that are original enough, even though thematically simple, to have sing-along value. A confident instrumental two thirds of the way through makes the whole package seem like a very professional rock song.
It’s certainly fair to say that if this band continues to bring out songs of this standard, they could be playing to gradually increasing crowds in the future; and with each show posing the question “Do I really love you, or are you just my stepping stone?”
