B.A.R.M.S. I.N. N.Y.C. (Barima), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

He's young. Everyone looks ancient to him.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

annie, you are ok.

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know, lauren. You're a woman and so you're just being bitchy?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Too many cocktails.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean, I shouldn't have to say that.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I would have guessed 18.

I haven't spoken to alba in months.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

But the last thing you said to me was "That Annie - she looks like an haggard old crow"

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm a drunk gossipy old bitch, i guess.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I know 15 annies and I wasn't even talking to you.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm a drunk gossipy old bitch, i guess.

peter smith (plsmith), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Maurice Fulton remix!

JoB (JoB), Thursday, 25 November 2004 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I hate that but I love the vocal. is the original vocal as sleepy?

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 25 November 2004 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh dear - I think I must be far too attached to the song to hear that done to it.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 25 November 2004 20:42 (twenty-one years ago)

This album is brilliant. That is all.

Pears can just fuck right off. (kenan), Friday, 26 November 2004 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

ok, listening to 'heartbeat' for the first time I think I finally get it.

cºzen (Cozen), Saturday, 27 November 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

It's all about the "I won't forget the greatest times I had when I was dancing with you".

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 27 November 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

It's all about love, beauty and craft.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Woodcraft?

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a Trojan.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Horse. Trojan Horse. Like, you admire the fine work and the mystery, not realising til it's too late that there are lots of beating hearts inside.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I spotted them almost instantly. I should totally have been a Trojan horse inspector. History might have been so different.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Are there horse inspectors?

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 27 November 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

the maurice fulton remix is too snuffbox-porny for my tastes

NBS, Saturday, 27 November 2004 17:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Great fucking album.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Sunday, 28 November 2004 04:35 (twenty-one years ago)

"Annie sounds so deliciously Norwegian you could use her to hunt whales"

so sayeth an Amazon.co.uk review!

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Sunday, 28 November 2004 07:23 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
is this LP 'out' in the strictest sense? i saw it in fopp (£15) but never in hmv, and on amazon they say 7 march.

Miles Finch, Thursday, 13 January 2005 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

it snuck out last year with zero promotion, but when the single didn't conquer the known world (ie London and UK radio) 679 shelved all hopes of a sleeper hit and quietly withdrew it again. It's being replugged on the back of "Heartbeat" as of, uh, around now I guess.

Here's her producer Timo (no reason, just like the picture): http://www.radiohelsinki.fi/valokuvia/timocrop.JPG

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 13 January 2005 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

the autumn 2004 issue seems to have been an extremely low-key and limited release (due to "chewing gum" only making #25) but 12"s of "my heartbeat" are circulating so it's likely that'll be out as a single first followed by the album release proper.

i suspect that all the copies in london record shops at the time of the first release were bought without exception by ilxors!

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 13 January 2005 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

wot a lovely thread. so, this was ILM in 2004. not so bad.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 13 January 2005 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Too little love for "Always Too Late"! BTW, the release phases of this album baffles me -- it's already been marked down by the chains here in Norway, actually.

Translation trivia: "mindre tilgjengelig" = "less accessible".

OleM (OleM), Thursday, 13 January 2005 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

That Fulton remix bites.

Captain GRRRios' Giggletits (Barima), Thursday, 13 January 2005 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

so is this where i get cheeky and ask someone to gmail me the whole damn album except for "chewing gum" and "heartbeat"?

yes, i think it is!

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 13 January 2005 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I can do that.

xpost

ana (ana), Thursday, 13 January 2005 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

GIVE ME THE BRAXE REMIX ALREADY (anyone?)

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

BTW, "Heartbeat" video is up on the official site.

http://www.anniemusic.co.uk/

ana (ana), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

David Fincher's gone back to basics, I see.

Captain GRRRios' Giggletits (Barima), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

aw bless 'er, cool video - won't blow minds but fits the song just fine

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)
