Yeah tbh I'd much rather take part in a 'this decade so far' poll, I really enjoyed the 2005-2009 one and the narrow timeframe is part of what made that so fun.

I think Can and/or Stereolab should go next!

I was planning around Metallica's turn coming up in July.

I can kick it off early, but it wouldn't be until next week.

The idea for the retrospective poll is about parsing the shifting tastes and impressive longevity of ilm. It's not arbitrary. What could we really learn from a 5 year poll window?

Feel like there's not that much to discover about the past 5 years - the EOY polls are fresh enough in my mind at least. 15 years is kind of a "history of ILX" poll.

would love to see/run a non-albums non-singles poll, like just all the shit that gets rejected from the billions of album lists out there. Soundtracks, various artist comps, best ofs, dj mixes, mixtapes, classical pieces, you name it, just no albums or singles. not sure if there would be any interest (or interest in two years when the rest of this list is done) or if perhaps one has been done and my ability to search this site is just shit.

that's kinda broad, I would recommend doing various subcategories (soundtracks is prob easiest/would get the most traction)

some sort of 'classic mixes' thread would be good
