it was among the 5 worst records we received while I was working there.
marissa, i actually like a lot of bluegrass and hiphop as well as sophisticated classical voice and piano compositions like yours.
but i can honestly say Bela Fleck's version of "Ballad of Jed Clampett" was truly a dreadful piece of music! The concept, the execution, everything about it was just AWFUL. I actually specifically remember playing it for friends to show them how depressingly AWFUL it was.

Marissa, please write to me. I want to try again.
Aldo
― Aldo Cella, Thursday, 18 August 2005 12:22 (twenty years ago)
Please do not write to Aldo.
What we have is too special.
I will help you fight this music industry, and no bango will come between you and the bluegrass girls.
Can you feel me?
Can you feel Kanye?
Later, alligator.

I don't like hip hop, I hate rap,and I think that what I am hearing on the radio sounds like music 99 pecent of the time.
I don't like very digital music and I am not happy working with Kurzweil's.I don't play classical music...all the time.
I just like music that sounds like music, not like noise.
If I write something and I really don't like it, I will drop it.
I play all kinds of music, blues, rock.classical, world fusion....folk fusion...renasssiance fusion...progressive...alternative rock...I have a few alternative rock tunes...
and show music etc...
I think bluegrass doesn't do much for me because I allowed my ear to develop.I was turned on by breton celtic music. I am turned on by medieval.I like dark music. Some heavy things...it depends. I am not one dimentional. but I don't own an electric guitar and I just learned how to make it sound electric..I would prefer and electric ..but I keep paying alot of money out to tune my piano..and refret my guitar.I like some indian singing.I like some asian singing.I like music from Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Russia.I love some traditional, ancient Chinese music.
I think Rap is low....Hip Hop is one of my least favorites.I can't stand it.I think it sounds like crap.
I love world music albums. Traditional ones ..the kind with virtuosos on them.
I love Latin music.
I think if Bela was a real artist, that years ago, this man would have been so miserable, he would have wanted to switch directions. It seems that he is perfunctory player. He isn't play from the heart.
He isn't really in to it.
I loved one pat methany record. Bela has convinced me that his ear is not highly developed and that he has very poor judgement in terms of what is beautiful and what is not.But then everyone has different taste.
I have really liked some older keith jarrett records with sax.
I don't think that Bela was born a real artist.
He doesn't act like one, and doesn't think one,.
but he is talented.some people are good, but not real artists.
I think rap is not music.
the screaming on the radio with rap ...is not music ...it sounds like amateur hour, worse. It sounds like nothing.the radio is getting worse.,
I like music from europe with accordian.

Rap and hip hop sound like nothing.Rap is even worse.Bluegrass...I studied bluegrass when I was kid for 2 years. It was fun, but not inspiring. It can be sort of fun, but it is definately not something I really enjoyed. I have always been interested in exporing.I don't hate bluegrass..but I don't really like either.
it is sad that some of these people have potential but they dont want to grow, they just want money. When Rap came on the scene it ruined everything ....it was the beginning of the end.

I own more then a pair of shoes.
Moving is not fun. I have to clean the frig, the cabinets. I can't be on here anymore.

I have talked to Marissa Fan (a/k/a Ted) and we are going to start the Marissa Marchant Fan Club. Or whatever name she is using we will change it to that. Marissa obviously will be consulted in this, as she is "job one".
The benefits of the club will be:
- mp3s of audio of Marissa that have been recorded.- mp3s of interviews where we had her permission.- mp3s of tracks/demos/bootlegs and "LICKS"- glossy brochure with bio, etcetera- access to secret info that Marissa has not posted on ILM- membership card with original design, will not look like membership card for Jenny McCarthy fan club
We are going to have free entry for one week (August 18-24). Please email your details (your "deets") to [email protected]. (I would say email them to Ted, but his email is a faker email.) After this period, yearly dues will be $7.99.
This will be a good way to stay in touch with Marissa once she has left the net because of you.
I wish I could say, "Operators are standing by." Soon, maybe.
― Confounded (Confounded), Thursday, 18 August 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)
we care about her art not her looks
