That kinda makes sense. I've previously argued that "there's something wrong with the pussy" is Thug's version of Seinfeld's big vagina routine.

Ehhhhhh Larry David's I mean. Brainfart.

longneck, Thursday, 23 April 2015 15:20 (eleven years ago)

Yea lots of people have been like "where are the hits"

yeah but not at the expense of "album tracks that are also dope." the popular opinion on that has been more like "there are a lot of album tracks here that are not dope (and sound samey); some hits would have been nice."

soyrev, Thursday, 23 April 2015 17:19 (eleven years ago)

Sure but these are all dope album tracks so

deej loaf (D-40), Thursday, 23 April 2015 17:27 (eleven years ago)

the comments section for your review (good read btw) is...something else deej, although that's to be expected considering the crowd

flopson, Thursday, 23 April 2015 21:16 (eleven years ago)

Just read the Pitchfork review and man Garvey is easily one of my favorite critics right now; her reviews for We Invented the Bop, the Future Brown album, and now this are all so on point. Even her blurb for 1989 on the Top 50 Albums list of 2014 was incredible.

misterjoshua, Friday, 24 April 2015 07:01 (eleven years ago)

Yeah she's great.

longneck, Friday, 24 April 2015 09:40 (eleven years ago)

@D-40 ah okay, couldn't tell you felt that way

don't love the album as a whole *quite* as much as her, but yes, the Garvey review is really nice. and she even makes space to acknowledge the level "Just Might Be" is on :D

soyrev, Friday, 24 April 2015 10:01 (eleven years ago)

meaghan rules

B6 is fine but clearly the new Rich Forever that deej is hellbent on canonizing as the artist's masterpiece regardless of what anyone else thinks

deej loaf (D-40), Friday, 24 April 2015 14:05 (eleven years ago)

I wasn't saying you're the only person who likes either of those records

frogteasip (some dude), Friday, 24 April 2015 14:52 (eleven years ago)

the lol was you worrying about me canonizing b6

deej loaf (D-40), Friday, 24 April 2015 14:53 (eleven years ago)

Best New Music/link to that Meaghan Garvey piece (which I thought ws nice bt kinda overreaching, esp once fuckin Halftime reared its dull head again) up on Facebook, dunno if that's anything

sonic thedgehod (albvivertine), Friday, 24 April 2015 22:25 (eleven years ago)

(I mean I don't remember if YT getting BNM is impt to Pitchfork politics and doubt that's germane to this thread anyway)

sonic thedgehod (albvivertine), Friday, 24 April 2015 22:41 (eleven years ago)

'halftime' is an album centerpiece

deej loaf (D-40), Saturday, 25 April 2015 02:10 (eleven years ago)

the Garvey review is my favorite so far.

deej loaf (D-40), Saturday, 25 April 2015 04:58 (eleven years ago)

big fan of one's perspective on an album clarifying after reading some good writing about it

CRITICISM

j., Saturday, 25 April 2015 15:22 (eleven years ago)

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree with the review, I think it's not at all far off from what I've argued itt in fact

deej loaf (D-40), Saturday, 25 April 2015 15:28 (eleven years ago)

yeah you and her definitely are on the same page with the album, i don't think anyone would deny that

interesting that Rich Gang's "Tell Em (Lies)" is still lurking around the lower reaches of the radio airplay charts right now

frogteasip (some dude), Saturday, 25 April 2015 17:02 (eleven years ago)

that tape had regional hits, kinda like old gucci mixtapes used to. Like I saw "Imma Ride" was getting play in Atlanta according to shazam...pretty sure I saw "I Know It" and "Flava" bubbling in other places but i can't remember specifically where

deej loaf (D-40), Saturday, 25 April 2015 17:34 (eleven years ago)

yeah it had so many songs that were ready for clubs/the radio, it annoys me that they tossed it out as a mixtape without "Lifestyle" on it when it could've maybe been a retail thing with sustained promotion

frogteasip (some dude), Saturday, 25 April 2015 18:29 (eleven years ago)

Was told not to share the Jamie XX collab but just wanna say that it's soooo good. Thugger starts off by saying "imma ride in that pussy like a stroller" haha. Pretty sure I don't have the full song though since Popcaan isn't on what I have.

misterjoshua, Wednesday, 29 April 2015 16:29 (eleven years ago)

ysi?

dousing my face with this track like its holy water

flopson, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 03:36 (eleven years ago)

Is it? Sounds aite but not blowing me away

deej loaf (D-40), Tuesday, 12 May 2015 04:13 (eleven years ago)

Most of these 30+ leaked tracks sound like Barter 6 outtakes. Which is fine.

longneck, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 09:42 (eleven years ago)

Ms. Jackson is kinda fire.

longneck, Tuesday, 12 May 2015 09:43 (eleven years ago)

They're all unintentional leaks
