Damning with faint praise!!! I think it's an amazing accomplishment, and while I'm not so down on Discovery as Ned is, I think he's right that this is a more complete experience (or whatever his wording was).
As for the stuff "firstworldman" said - I think it comes off as (sorry) rockism.

deej claiming the above is rockist then saying: "Do you need me to expound further?"
Me responding: "deej, can you please look up what 'rockist' means before you just toss it around aimlessly? or at least just argue on the point above made DIRECTLY, instead of using the 'r' word for reasons you obviously don't understand?"

Sure.
Rockists: Synthesizers = bad
Anybody in this thread with any interest in Daft Punk is not a rockist. End of case.
There's no expectation on how hard one must work on a piece of art in the rockism tenets. In fact, lack of hard work is often PRAISED in certain rockist circles.. praised in the name of spontaneity and inventiveness.

Okay, so "Technologic" is fucking awesome. I also notice that I completely missed "On/Off" so I'm not saying shit about it.

xp to Dan - if this is the case, then the word rockist is useless. If we use it as a word to define any and all logical fallacies related to music appreciation, it is actually a very useful word.

I am patiently waiting for my DL to finish. Meanwhile, I'm still coming to terms with "Robot Rock" as alleged total ripoff of that Breakwater track -- and also why said ripoff is not actually that big a deal.
