Maybe something by Shunzoh Ohno? I need to check his late 70s/early 80s albums to confirm. Also I just realized that Basso is aka "Breeze", who constructed several definitive Nu-Balearic mixes that were floating around the web five or so years ago.

Yeah I think that one was as Breeze - I am sure I've heard it before it got shared in my stream today - possibly a few years back.

that spotify playlist was a bit overkill for me - when it's 360 tracks and some are just well-known hits it becomes a bit useless and unfocused.

Yeah I mostly just stick it on shuffle for an hour or so when I'm in the right mood and short on ideas, which is usually Sunday morning.

there are some brilliant tunes on it for sure - just it's a bit of a wide lens - it's (obviously) quite a brit-centric 80s take on balearic too, there are a lot of old tunes i hear in many diff mixes that are quite a diff take on balearic.

That Sorcerer mix is glorious, the shift into house and beachy techno midway through feels very early 90s. It's actually more like a really good compilation than a mix.

It is! The original was a Balearic gem but this is an outstanding reworking. I kinda feel bad for Lexx, whose much shorter mix on the B-side is pretty good yet dominated by this version.

I do wish that Moonboots would reconsider his vinyl-only policy. Soundcloud streams and bootleg rips just don't compare.

What Aficionado often do though is release stuff that was only available on CD or digitally before (e.g. that Plastic Fantastic track, Joan Bibiloni, Nev Cottee etc)

True but unfortunately not with everything they've released. Would really love a high quality version of the Tempelhof 12", for one.

I recall some Soundcloud comment where MB was thinking out loud about releasing a CD compilation this year. Not sure if it'll come to pass but if it does, I'll be on it.
