yeah i feel the same way. there's a certain effervescence that is missing i think. i like it less than "the thrill"

yeah it's not the very top shelf but i want to hear how it sounds on the radio. especially because the "coffee in the morning" version >>>>> the "fucking in the morning" one.

I thought "Adorn" was just OK when it appeared on the EP, so I'll wait for (and if) radio lifts this.

Love this guy, but everything he's done post-Kaleidoscope feels very one note to me

'the thrill' seems a comparison designed to arbitrarily cardinalize that song's qualities, i reject it

'use me' x 'arch & point', if anything, otoh

if i was gonna make a favorable comparison, i would say that the layering of vocals on "coffee" reminds me of the sort of static dreaminess of "kaleidoscope dream," a song that seems slight at first but really reveals itself over time

solo version is spectacular, "fucking" is terrible

having a prominent curse word to conspicuously edit seems like something radio actively gravitates to these days, would be terrible if not surprising if stations opt to play "f___in' in the morning" over "coffee in the morning."
