i've never heard 'more than ever' before! this is really good

didn't vote for righeira (tho i do love it), but had ginny as my #3 and matia as my #4 - it's maybe not strictly italo but i still think 'can't be serious' is the apotheosis of the italo/balearic intersect and 'ti sento' is such OTT high drama, that last long high note she hits right before the end <3

agreed that "magic fly" isn't italo, but what genre is it? disco alone doesn't seem adequate

Can't think of much to say about Ti Sento. if anything it seems a bit buttoned-up compared to the rest of the countdown despite her valiant delivery in the chorus.

I can trace a line from "Magic Fly" to Pulstar's "Hypnosis", so it does legitimately feel like the genesis of a certain strain of Italo.

Magic Fly = space disco, obv

I love "Ti Sento" but I feel like it's more Italian pop than Italo. Perhaps my perception is influenced by the fact that it's sung in Italian, but it's maybe also that Matia Bazar are the quintessential Italian pop group.

why isn't Magic Fly italo?

I left 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' off my ballot because I felt like it was sure to place without my help and I've spent the last 3 days getting more and more worried it was going to end up at number 51 or something

i voted for it but felt like it was a sure lock. it even has its own ilx thread!

maybe I wanna be your lover should have been my number one if I was truly voting from the heart. this rollout is fantastic, lots of great stuff that I have wondered why I didn't vote for as soon as it placed

someone once told me I look like the mustachioed La Bionda brother and I feel that has had a big impact on how I relate to their music

I think it was the "guitar" "solo" at the end that really pushed this to #1 for me

Maria Magdalena is unbelievable. The call and response in the chorus is so good.

Didn't vote for Eugene or Sandra but very happy to see them place. 20 songs just really wasn't enough.

This is one of the few polls where I have absolutely no idea of what's in with a chance of winning.

Maria Magdalena is good but the chorus is a liiiiittle close to Self Control.

I never really got into Sandra that much, post Arabesque, but should probably revisit her.
