we survived Racoon and Banaka.

Twigs to win this now, if only because the voting constituency is so wide and it's so obviously the rallying point on the album.

i really don't get anyone hating this song. it's just a really good 80's song

love this song, love this band but was still surprised at year-end-list hivemind on it

Still not bored of Seasons despite playing it over and over most of the year. It's just such a beautiful song.

he totally does. studio version of "seasons" is v subdued in this respect though

Jordan that would make more sense if the 80s synthpop revival hadn't now been going on for longer than the actual 80s did.

I think of it as an old school Disney crooning ballad with a synthpop motor underneath it, there's something very innocent but also very corny about it.

Really it's more of a 60s pop ballad with 80s production than an 80s song.

Matt, that's the best description I've read!

I don't get the consensus on this one, it's an alright song but it doesn't scream 'indie anthem' like say 'All my friends' or some of those early Arcade Fire songs where I could understand where all the love was coming from. This just feels very derivative to me definitely not a top 10 song.

Letterman said it was THE representative song of the year?

it's ok, i've come around on this, i like the singing quite a lot. and the orchestration is pretty rote at this point.

xps get on letterman with this one weird growl

the whole album is so good big hearted strange expansive sad and jammy

gives hope to out of shape karaoke singers the world over

oh i am really excited for "no flex zone"... hopefully #1 :D

Az. Banks will do well on albums but there never seemed to be any consensus about what the best tracks on her album other than "212" were.

Like every time I hear this I hear Elton John singing it in his hammiest possible way and I can't get that out of my head, I actually liked it at first but I could quite happily never hear it again.
