ILM's Top 77 Tracks of 2014

For someone who listened to 200+ new releases this year, and countless more singles, today has been a reminder why I visit ILM. I hadn't even heard of 5 of the 11 tracks so far. Not that into most of this stuff, but still very refreshing.

99% of my music listening in 2014 was on Spotify, and if a song wasn't on Spotify, I didn't really bother to seek it out. Occasionally, though, I'd look something up if I'd heard good things about it and was curious. "Down on My Luck" is probably my favorite song not on Spotify that I discovered in 2014.

if you listened to pop radio for more than 30 minutes at any point over the summer you would've had a decent chance of catching it

Vic Mensa sounds like Disclosure if they were any good.

It's on spotify, just not in the US.

This is an awesome top 5. I think I might like British rap better than US rap. The SBTRKT remix of Pass Out is also amazing.

Fantastic song. For some reason I missed it on the nominations thread otherwise it would have been in my top 10.

oh i knew this was the singles jukebox's top 2014 track but i didn't really get why and most of the rest of its internet presence seems to be a remix

seems like a wispier and less resonant "solo dancing"
