I enjoy The War on Drugs because it makes for good winter highway driving music.

The moment The War on Drugs finally worked for me was when I was walking around outside in really cold weather. It's definitely a winter album.

Xpost it's a self-fulfilling prophecy though. Tracks poll has always been pop oriented but it's not necessarily meant to be.

i dunno even if some of the dumb weird rock bands or folk drone weirdo guitar players i like would have any chance of placing the massive shitfit it would incur doesn't really seem worth it ya know?

plus i'd rather just check out the results and hear some stuff i don't know

Couldn't decide on a 2NE1 track so voted the album instead.

I'd love to hear all those UMS. I still think the soloing of genres into rolling threads is one of the most disappointing things to happen to ilm.

I voted for Beep Dee (as well as Hodgson)

i voted for rs4 so uh yeah i think this is it for deep tech

oh right babylon system, i gave that a listen, that drama sounds cheap to me which i'm sure it isn't when you're at those clubs but i don't live in london sorry. made me reach for rhythm & sound instead.

I've not heard Babylon System before (or many vocal deep tech records at all) and HOLY SHIT.

for me, its just very flat footed and the sound palette is tiring

my impression of deep tech is that it's great and functional if you're living it but i'm not and see no reason to want to, that sort of functionality is something i can find in front of me if i need it.
