i listened to hey qt last night and couldn't figure out why it was contentious

do people just really not like the corny pitchshifted-up effect on the vocal? other than that it sounds like something i'd expect to hear in any given ilx poll

this sort of set the template for my "idgi" re young thug. his hiccuping tone and the stop-start tinny beat and the stop-start flows all make me feel a bit seasick. i guess if i could take his vocal tone i could appreciate it but i'm not even nearly enjoying it.

the moment i really "got" young thug's deal was "try me" (the trae single not dej loaf) which is a song literally only i seem to give a shit about

I love how the "I feel like Fabo" part is weaved through the track as a secondary hook, appearing in the background under the second chorus and then at the end of the song.

Ok I'm not but I wasn't using the word freely just pointing out I disliked how many times she said it in such a short amount of time. She literally says it every two seconds. Ignoring the debate about the word which I don't think anyone in here wants to get into (i'll just say it doesn't feel to me like you can 'earn' to say some words, if it's wrong for some group to say it, it should be wrong for everyone) and I don't know much about what's considered to be 'good' rapping but rhyming every verse with the same word whatever that word is seems lazy to me.

Yeah, the beat is amazing. It's so weird and screwy and synthetic then it breaks down with amazing guitar/electric piano part and becomes this whole other thing.
