i don't think the 90 hold thing is for real, ebro just speculated it and the-dream went "it's something like that." probably more accurately when beyonce or whoever is in album mode they just pay him to stay in town in case they need him.

i was listening to the radio recently and as a song faded out this litte voice goes "cool beans!" and it was Terius in the studio for an interview. the most interesting thing he said was that he usually saves his really songwriter-y songs for other artists and only occasionally puts things like "Right Side Of My Brain" on his album, but is doing more stuff like that for this new album.

on what planet is that song 'lousy'. it's perfect

i wouldn't say it's his best record in 5 years but it's the most early solo terius thing he's done in a hot minute

Crown is a bit disappointing after That's My Shit and Fruition. Both of those are great and Throw It Back is nice but the remaining three fall short.

yeah that song sucks

so did the whole ep after it but not in a particularly interesting way

"cedes benz" made me want to listen to "hit it on the road"

'that's my shit' is still A+ classic to me, song after it was kinda cool in that dramatic way that makes you feel like you're at the climactic moment of a film, the rest of it was zzzz

yeah i've come to love 'that's my shit.' very reminiscent of the early singles.

I still really haven't come around to that's my shit completely but the 'she met you out tryna find me' line is nice

to me (and i guess this chimes in with evan further upthread) this album is almost kinda like a magically transported and retooled unearthed terius debut from the 90s, from that once upon a time atl r&b c-lister who did minor regional heat for raheem the dream and b-rock & the bizz etc, only instead of shanaynay from around the way singing bout pagers it's beyonce singing bout that siri

naturally i can see how that may not be of much allure to dreamer aesthetes but imo better the local and lo-qual vitality of this record than the sadly diminished returns of love king and 'slow it down'
