I always found the bassist kind of scary because of those mad spittle flecked vocals he'd do, but then it turns out he's this cute gangly nerdy guy who says things like 'I HURTED MY FINGER.'
I kind of lost interest in them after a while but I always wish the first album got more love, there's a lot of shrieky pop genius on that, and 'Medium Is The Message' is a better Pixies song that most actual Pixies songs and awesome driving music.
Also 'there's an eight per cent chance that you know Charles Dance and you're no damn friend of mine....DANNNNNNY BAKKKERRRRRRRRRR, DANNNNNY BAAAAAAAAAAKERRRRRRRRRRR...'

Who fixed his broken glasses at ATP by basically winding masking tape round his whole head. Including over the lenses of his glasses. That was pretty scary.

Terrible news, I went out and bought do dallas on vinyl as soon as I heard about it and I intend to wear my mcluksy badge with pride for the forseeable future. Im so glad I made the effort to see them the 9 times in the past 2 years. Thanks Falco, Jon, Jack and anyone else associated with mclusky.
Just one request, there really should be some sort of final release or something what will happen to the many quality songs we know exist 'How To Spot A Record Company' for example.
Thankyou Malax. There will be a final release, which was due to be an interim one, hopefully a three disc set, a sides, b sides, and a final cd of live tracks (including from the ULU show) and unreleased/demo songs, probably over 50 songs in total. We hope to have it out for regular album price so nobody will feel shafted.
falco well, i guess i'll just hafta say 'okay' to this and not feel shafted at all.peel sessions anyone?

Falco s now in a new rock band called Future of the Left, who have a double a-side single out and an album due in the fall. They are predictably great.

I also saw this earlier and was actually gonna start/bump a thread about Amazon CD sellers... I mean are ppl actually paying prices this inflated is the question, any chump can list his CD rack and slap £stupid on them

Guess I'm too lazy to put my signed* Rice Is Nice single up for stupid money. Also, I pretty much doubt anyone is actually buying at those prices, yeah. But maybe...(* I was young! Also, drunk.)
(Pissed off cz I have a tape which went for fifty quid on ebay last year, and another copy came up last month and got 95p)
― a passing spacecadet, Tuesday, 9 June 2009 14:54 (seventeen years ago)
amazon cd prices are usually complete hallucinations on the seller's part. that said, i'd probably pay embarrassing money for an LP of do dallas.
― pretzel walrus, Tuesday, 9 June 2009 14:59 (seventeen years ago)
Looking at eBay completed listings, a copy of the Mcluskyism 3CD set went for $29.57 the other day... less than half the Amazon asking price.

Saw this yesterday as well on DiS, I have all those CDs. Not willing to sell though.
Coincidentally, I interviewed Falco yesterday. Didn't mention this though, can't imagine he'd be very interested.

Do we have any idea what the meaning of the asterisk on their name is? I'm guessing that it has something to do with the line-up but would be delighted to know more.
