i shd check this out maybe. habits has been soundtracking my life for a a few months now

i first heard habits a year & a half ago, listened to it obsessively then. when the album finally dropped was kinda like "oh, she made a record finally." only listened once and wasn't like, bowled over by the whole album but deserves another shake

Been enjoying this the last few weeks although for some strange reason it's not getting officially released over here (UK) until 2015

ilm is sleeping on this album, like forksclovetofu has said, there are some serious nuggets on this record. it does take awhile to get into it but the rewards are amazing, will be on my list for ILM's annual countdown.

Not On Drugs is probably better than Habits but this is a seriously great album.

Yeah, album is surprisingly solid.

Really like this album. For me it joins Cher Lloyd and Ronika as one of this year's great and underrated pop albums.

Talking Body came on when I was in the gym today and it sounded weirdly generic to me -- the way her voice is produced in particular. Also, the line is changed to "love for life" in the radio version.

this single is 90% good, but the 10% is where it includes awkward slang

like, you have 90% of a gorgeous, heartbreaking pop song, but the 10% is stuff like "I can't hide my feels"

this album is really not that good. i was expecting more but all it really is is throwaway pop.

I love the second half, particularly "Don't Talk About It" and "Flashes".

I never tried "lady wood" though I loved the first album a lot; anybody wanna convince me to try it? the lack of buzz here is not heartening.

Her voice seems to have lost all its urgency and energy. There's some great songs here - "True Disaster" especially - but her delivery makes everything seem so monochromatic. It made me think of the Liz Phair self-titled album: it's meant to be pop and it's meant to be sexually empowered and feminist, but it doesn't quite come off.

and I was really sad because the debut was one of my favourites of recent years.

Just checked ticket prices and they're around $75 so I think this is not going to happen.

Ha, yeah, I was momentarily confused when it came up in my Spotify Discover playlist last week

Still surprised that "No One Dies From Love" made it all the way up to #8 in the ILM 2022 Singles poll. I now see that it was mentioned in this thread but not talked about that much. I did post the video in the campaigning thread but there was no reaction to it, so I thought it wouldn't even make the Top 77 lol. The best part of the song is "I miss all the cool things we'd do, but what I miss the most is watching movies with you" which is not on the album or first video of the song. Bringing this all up because of the CVS heard out in the wild thread.

I made True Romance together with my roommate Tim From The House. We both had a need to write something different and dramatic. It took me three days to get the lyrics right but I recorded it in one take. The lyrics are based on the movie True Romance, destructive cinematic love at its best and worst. Tove Lo is coming here to Orange County on Tuesday, Monday in Los Angeles. Anyways, should I go? Has anyone that reads this seen her live?

She's a lot of fun.

100% would recommend, although the crowd I was part of skewed very young - it was sold out but I doubt there were more than a dozen people there under 25. She is charismatic, fun and committed on stage, with everything feeling very urgent and breathless. Also: very popular with the queer kids, so it was a joy for me in my 30s to see people half my age out expressing themselves through fashion and social moves in a way that I would never have been able to do when I was that age.

I went ahead and bought tickets based on these reply. Note they were cheap,so lucky me.

Show was so much fun. I think It was all gay, or seriously it seemed like half of the people there were with their same sex partner. Thanks to those who recommended me going.

The place was packed and she has a very dedicated fan base. She also said it was the last date of her current tour.

Her songs are very sensual and the biggest cheer probably came from "No One Dies From Love" but could also be expected since it closed the show.

this is exceptional - her and SG Lewis work their way through the new EP and play some other excellent music in a hybrid performance/DJ set. It's like she's seen Brat Summer happen and decided to have a go at doing it better herself.
