this thread inspired me to go back to trane. man, the opening beauty of “spiritual…” it’s like a dream i had: i floated on the river nile, smokin’ some fresh weed, relaxin’. but i ain’t ever gonna see the nile anyhow. this track’s as close as i come, and it’s close enough. best of the best, though, has gotta be “india.” it’s only when you listen to a perfect old jazz tune like this that you realize how much drum-n-bass is derived from this music. trane takes it to heaven and back with some style, man.

Hard to find in these parts. That brewery (Goose Island) has another that's easier to find though, India Pale Ale. I actually prefer American Craft to English Ale.

I've pissed people off in full threads for years to the point some idiots wanted me banned and I never got an ask Moka either. I am also jealous.

Moka, how is your bar doing? Are the musically-named shots selling well?

Yes, they are! So well in fact that I opened a second bar this year and I'm going for a third next year, just looking for the right location.

besides the common shots, we had 10 specials shots that you guys helped me name.... I had to cut a couple to reduce time/stock. Unfortunately I had to let go 'Barracuda' and 'Tago Mago' which were my favorite in terms of name but the ones that required more time to be made and they weren't that popular.

I also get to play my music on both bars (the first is a mixed bag of everything I like without paying attention to genre, some people
might hate it for trendy (the few big mainstream artists I have in that playlist are usually in deep
cuts that rockists always complain about) the second is mainly focused on soul/jazz/blues/funk/rockabilly but we have house djs now and then and an awesome blues/rock band on weekends)

At first few people understood what I was going for with the second bar and thought it lacked the 'boho hipstery" vibe of my first bar... I think they were expecting it to be more focused on rock music when I was thinking more about a place where I can chill while listening to soul music. The place looks gorgeous and cozy so eventually we found an audience and we're now packed in both venues.

The third place will be brazilian inspired. Tropicalia and filled with colors and flowers and all those things.

Rockists that come expecting to hear Freebird and all those classic rock songs which I don't intend to listen to for the 2000th time in my life seem dissapointed but we compensate with lots of beautiful women in my bars. Our audience in both is mainly women (which makes it miles better for me, I'd hate to be the only girl at an all dude's bar rocking to ac/dc) and I dont know if it works the same in the US/UK but if the ladies come to your bar the men will follow.

I mean dissapointed because as I mentioned earlier they'll approach me asking for something like Red Hot Chili Peppers and then come back after I played something like Walkabout because they want a popular one but I have none.
