this tape YT is slightly more consistent and engaging that his usual tape standard. Sounds like he's waking up from a long coma on Bullets hook though. Quan's drowsy keyless crooning gets bit tiresome. All the beats on here sound the same.

that sucks abt the show. yeah same type of sitch when hes supposed to be in Connecticut..may go see lil durk instead which is at least at a legitimate venue

I'd seen Gucci Mane and Young Scooter shows there without a problem, and there were plugs for the show on Young Thug's various social media feeds, so even at 1 a.m. it didn't dawn on me he wasn't gonna show. What's crazy is how little the audience cared. Nobody booed or was all that pissed (even with the DJ bad mouthing Thug). Everybody contently filed out without making a stink about it.

yeah will prob try to see/write about the show. it's pretty late in the tour though, by that point it should prolly be apparent whether it's a must-see show or not.

yeah even when it was his most widely reviewed project at the time there was a whole tone of "we're talking about this because it's the first thing he dropped since Stoner/Danny Glover, it's not a major or representative release." i can't tell if Christgau never caught that vibe or is just rebelling against it.

he's mentioned it several times all year, so for him it was likely "first release I loved is the first one I love"

i always thought picachu was annoying and i think people are into it for its "weirdness" like he's just shouting random words or whatever
which, tbf, he is, but the weirdness unto itself appreciation of young thug is kind of annoying imo

it's one of his best & most coherent hooks, lyrically

well that part is sort of a non sequitur but everything that comes after that is just a pretty digestible modern rap hook constructed & delivered in a way that is very singular

yeah but if he hadn't used the word picachu no one would single it out
