the Childish Major tracks are really generic chintzy Southern rap IMO, dude sounds way better over soul shit or really towering massive beats which I think "4 Zones" is. "Addicted" is nice tho although YG's verse is super-lol

i like 'try me' and not as much the other ones (altho "fuck em x3" is kinda fun in a sergdun-core way) but i def know where you're coming from on this ... v detached or something

i do think 'try me' is interesting though ... it's like reading a twitter feed during ferguson where its like "heartfelt anger" -> "pop culture joke" -> "general fuckery" -> "anguish" -> all in the same flat 140 character tone ... idk it's like an emotional rollercoaster while your eyes are glazed over looking at your phone but set to music

"Offbeat" in the pocket rapping is a thing now ... I think when yae yae Jordan does it it's effective, Pablo skywalkin feels like he's still locating his sound

those are triplets too. jaz is just saying a syllable on every third beat where a migos flow would have a syllable on all three beats with an accent on one of them. xp

you can't be in the pocket and out of the pocket at the same time, it's one or the other. like people make fun of Big Sean on "All Me" but his timing is totally on point, i don't know what those guys are doing though.

The pocket isn't a strict rhythmic term some dude. They're not completely disregarding rhythm like lil b but nor are they strictly adhering to it
