"boss ass bitch" remix is one of the craziest rap songs of the year and she spits on "lookin ass" and "chiraq" but i'm mostly with shiplo on this one

the trollingest thing i really believe that i've resisted trotting out in public over the last few months is that Iggy's album is really well produced and people would fall over themselves with praise if a Nicki album ever had those beats.

I don't think anyone's issue with Azalea is the beats.

sure, sure. i'm just saying, sonically it's almost precisely the rap/pop intersection i feel like people want out of a Nicki LP that she never seems to hit upon. obviously Nicki a big precursor to her sound too, but just interesting given how rudderless Nicki's taste in beats/songs has become.

idk I hate the "Fancy" beat, although yes the hook is worse (not her tho)

Disagree on both counts - beat could pass as dj mustard and Charli is easily the best thing about the song.

i have mixed feelings about the "Fancy" beat, meant more the other tracks on the album (although not so much the other single with Rita Ora, that's pretty bland)

I do expect there to be a buzzaonthebeatho drop everytime I hear it although when you think about it there are differences

My chief beef with Azalea-as-artist has always been her terrible rapping, not bad beats. The fact that she has good beats being wasted only makes it worse. Black Widow being a prime example of this. Her bars on that are baffingly shit, like "how were you not asked to re-record this" levels of shit. Anyway, Anaconda video is out:

iggy definitely wastes a lot of good beats on her album but her problem is largely being boring rather than actively terrible - "fancy" works as a great pop song (aside from having an awesome beat, despite charli's chorus being awkwardly shoehorned in) because she constantly lights on catchy vocal hooks and tics, which she really fails to do elsewhere on the album. so little sticks out, and the sia-style blustery choruses don't help.

i toyed with liked 'new bitch' off iggy's alb but she is really too unpleasant

"fuck love" is the only non-"fancy"/"work" track i fuck with, maybe because it's so outright unpleasant

Could not make it through the song. Though at the ice skating rink with my kids yesterday I heard some weird chopped up remix of "Baby's Got Back" which was not this, afaict. Will be awesome if/when this Nicki things gets traction and they go to youtube, their preferred method of listening to music, though of course they like the pop stuff better so may just miss this mess entirely.

I love the song but the video... ugh. I don't know what I was hoping for but this isn't it.
