Is there a thread for Amber London?

Van Horn Street, Tuesday, 5 August 2014 05:32 (eleven years ago)

A stupid question and a missed pun, rather: is there any discussion around amber london? I really enjoy Hard 2 Find.

i mean, as embarassing as the whole "Is this guy who raps about Pitchfork and Trader Joe's SECRETLY NAS?!?!?!?!?!" http://api.ning.com/files/MJwDGAzzVZLocX4j3DXTgE3TnpmL-5j1dp5fNqLj-Yuxgt8k0v5J-A2Wa20vpZdfvh-DTtLkDdCZliuZbabNZg__/nas.gif thing has been, and as terrible as his name is, I gotta say the Your Old Droog tape is pretty great in the vein of Roc Marci/Ka

it's not really inconceivable for Nas to rap about a grocery chain or a popular music publication that has interviewed him tbh

it's not really inconceivable for Gudda Gudda to rap about a grocery bag

ruffalo soldier (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 8 August 2014 20:53 (eleven years ago)

what about being a proponent of the unintentional parodists of one of the greatest musical periods in 20th century music

rap steve gadd (D-40), Friday, 8 August 2014 21:11 (eleven years ago)

mallrats is playing at midnite tonite and tomorrow at my local arthouse fyi

°ㅇ๐ْ ° (gr8080), Friday, 8 August 2014 22:01 (eleven years ago)

broadly labeling a unspecified subsection of a generation of modern musicians working in a relatively new musical tradition as "unintentional parodists" by dint of generally unremarked and apparently presumed-to-be-obvious qualities is an impressively casual sneer, especially when dispensed so broadly and with so little clear intent. kudos for that.

Please enlighten me on what I should be talking about, but there's not a whole lot going on these days outside of solid niche dudes in any style

The Underchievers - Terminus Ut Exordium
is pretty good for a "talking that outer space shit that don't even make no sense u get punched in the face just for livin'" ill psychosomatic macrobiotic topics rock shit pop clips at my target type backpacker stuff!

ruffalo soldier (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 13 August 2014 15:38 (eleven years ago)

Ill check that Underachievers.

The new Twista (on spotify now) is ehhh ok. He sounds pretty good throughout but is let down by some truly uninspired hooks. Some are flat-out embarrassing tbf. 'Crisis' with tech 9 is really fun, 'DOA' 'Beast' 'Devils Angel' all sound really tough.

Strictly EZ Snappin' Nhex (Spottie), Wednesday, 13 August 2014 16:05 (eleven years ago)
