hmmm, don't know why those columns didn't line up right, but you get the gist. Points, votes, #1 votes.

all interesting!
my first place vote was for 'My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts' though -- hope my votes are all in this somewhere

Happy to see AGW take this, so many ideas on that album. On Land is my favourite of the ambient records.

Milton -- just checked, and yes -- your ballot is included. I just missed that note for #1 vote when I transferred everything from my working data sheet to the cleaned-up final one.

Ha, somehow it didn't occur to me that 'albums produced by Brian Eno' also includes albums by Brian Eno! I might have voted in that poll otherwise.

xpost Bush of Ghosts also my least fave Byrne collaboration. Love AGW like a brother, but never understood why that one gets dramatically singled out above the others.

It is a little baffling. AGW got 5 stars and Warm Jets/Tiger Mt/Science all got 4 in the first RS Record Guide, iirc*, and that judgment has just stuck, but I can't think of any criteria by which AGW is remarkably better than the others.
*I may not rc.

Wow, never so much as heard of Fovea Hex. I'm excited to explore it.
Also, suddenly recalled Eno contributes a bunch to Arto Lindsay's "O Corpo Sutil." Particularly subtle, iirc.

xposting, sort of: Eno's had his fingers in so many pies, it's inspiring to taste a new one, be it a Roger Eno record, or Favea Hex or whatever. This is one of the more obscure things he did:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCVYG1AyNWg
Overlooked at least as much as that Dido track and Corrs track i noted on the other thread. Not necessarily for the worse, but like his collaboration with Elvis Costello, it seems too high profile to be this obscure.

I didn't have room on my ballot for "China My China," but the instrumental break for massed guitars and typewriters on is still one of my favorite moments on TTM.
― one way street, Thursday, 10 July 2014 16:13 (ten years ago) link
"Blank Frank" seems much too low, but I'm a sucker for recontextualizing the Bo Diddley beat.
I passed on both of those, but "China My China" was a late cut. I tried to make room for a wider range of things than I usually do in polls.

way too low for blank frank, the messenger of your doom and your destruction! he has scared me on a number of occasions.
― La Lechera, Thursday, 10 July 2014 16:21 (ten years ago) link
Everything about Blank Frank is amazing. Think my favourite moment is the guitar exploding at the 55 second mark. It is one of those songs that's just full of amazing moments though.
These Roxy Music songs are all way too low, but I guess some people didn't want to vote for their stuff in an Eno poll. I gave points to all three of their songs that have placed so far.
