i think even the best rapping ass rap nicki minaj songs have a sort of gleeful bounce to them. thinking of like her "donk" freestyle or "wave ya hand" or "stupid hoe" or "did it on em" or "beez in the trap" or "the boys" or "roman's revenge". that's what i really loved about he "boss ass bitch" freestyle but these last tracks are like dirges.

i mean she's still rapping her ass off but it's almost like the SERIOUS RAP peter rosenberg shit has gotten into her head a bit as far as the production goes

this is otm, "Boss Ass Bitch" is the only one of the new ones i particularly care for. although i'm holding out hope that whatever Mustard is doing for her project lives up to the potential of that pairing.

i really like "lookin ass" a lot, not hugely into these other ones yet but still anticipating this

the thing is, everyone remembers "Super Bass," but Pink Friday was huge before that off of 3 singles that basically sounded like this, so I'm not surprised, prob a smart move

i kind of like this but it's weirdly muted. if she was gonna go pop i think i'd rather hear another "starships"

yeah i have nothing against pop nicki in the vein of "starships" and "pound the alarm" but i have everything against watery nothingy "your love" nicki WHO THE FUCK IS HERE FOR THAT

this is basically the mushy last three-fourths of _roman reloaded_ again, right? weird how in 2014 that's the most immediately commercially salvageable part of that album

Song is like if the verses from "Freedom" collided with the chorus from "Your Love".

her last album is clearly better than tha carter IV, that's about all she has

that's crazy. wayne had like 2 years where the spectrum was 'awful' to 'passable' hovering mostly near the former. nicki over the same stretch was 'passable' to 'awesome' hovering mostly near the latter

the x-factor is that wayne's features were often change-the-radio-station bad during that whole period

I would dispute that her last album was better than C4 (or a lot of things) but then my non-Wayne Young Money interest is pretty limited, select Drake/Nicki songs/features aside. actually prefer hearing random Jae Millz/Mack Maine/Euro nevergonnabes spit solid verses on Wayne mixtapes to a lot of their material

well I had heard the song many times and it didn't rilly make an impression, but the video I saw on VH1soul is all moody Nicki, no glam, etc etc.

it's still pretty lol to me that she described pills & potions as sounding "like urgency" before it was released when...there was so much more urgency in those buzz songs she put out beforehand

i like the percussion on this song - as far as sia-style songs go it's better than most. and the video is cute. but yeah obv she can do much better.
