"You're No Rock n' Roll Fun" and "All Hands On The Bad One" were the songs that turned me off the band for a while after The Hot Rock got me interested in them tbh

"You're No" was the only AHOTBO song to make my ballot.

OOOOH TOO LOW for "Call the Doctor" -- I had it at #2, and it's my #2 by a large margin. I'd never heard anything like it before -- not with lyrics about socialization, the weird vocal interplay, the vibrato in the lead singer's voice -- and then the explosion during the bridge -- Corin wailing, Carrie screaming -- made me an instant fan. So powerful.

When I was getting into them I really didn't like the Call the Doctor album that much at all, the only song that stuck was the title track. The whole album has grown on me a lot but that song in particular has become one of my favourite songs of theirs. Such a brilliant opener.

"Dance Song '97" and its roller rink organ warmed to the band after the initial shock.

I kind of always forget about Dance 97 as it's surrounded by such amazing songs that overshadow it a little bit.

it doesn't fit in on dmo when i think about what dmo is about, but if i go track by track its one of my favorites.

bouncy sk is the best, and i love the undercurrent of compulsion and dread. it has a "dance dance dance to the radio" quality.

omg the the toms that kick in around 2:20 in the outro.

It was in the middle of my ballot, but I was expecting it to get totally overlooked.

i don't know if can explain very well why i like it so much but i had it pegged as my #1 from the outset and listening thru the catalog again confirmed it. man i love that song.

Love "Turn It On" but it was one of the DMO rockers I omitted in favor of "It's Enough" and "Not What You Want." All so good, tho.

first SK song i ever heard, totally bewildered and enchanted me, wasn't like anything i'd ever heard. still makes me catch my breath every time the 'fast' part starts.

Ditto. Fucking love this; on first listen, THR had its hooks in me from "Start Together," but hearing this, I knew it was one of those songs that would be in my life for a very long time.

My #1, and no question about it. The subtle "oooohs" in the chorus (and as I still remember from one of his posts, josh blog noting how even the clapping is so focused and determined), Corin cranking up the insane desperation in her typically awesome vocals, the way she whispers before exploding at the end, this song always makes me tear up and always gets me on the knife's edge of living.
