ugh, i have plenty of time for chance & james blake but can't see their musical worlds (which are both so fully realized in their own right) mixing well.

I thought the Life Round Here remix was jarring but I love both artists and I think that if Blake was writing with Chance instead of just plugging him into an existing song that could be interesting.

don't like the sound of James Bluntstep singing but i don't see why he can't do some beats for good Chance songs at least

Yeah there's this one verse that sounds like a rewritten Em verse, I gotta remember to make a note next time I hear it

like "You Song" and "Tweakin'" better than this mixtape, unless I'm imagining things he toned down his vocal style for 'em

I like Matt, who wrote that, but I'm not sure I really 'get' that piece & the connections its trying to make. Or the strawman of white academic criticism that it's apparently an anecdote to? whenever i read academic criticism of rap it tends to be from people of color, because academia is one place where people of color have managed to make more significant inroads of influence

I've been listening a lot to Acid Rap again recently, and I still can't quite believe how good it is. This album always feel exciting.
