Whitehouse never glorified child abuse fyi

A photocopy from a magazine of child pornography was used as the cover of issue #2 of Pure which led to Sotos pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, receiving a suspended sentence.

Ward Fowler, Friday, 20 December 2013 13:59 (twelve years ago)

Anyway, ancient history aside, saying they could get an album out of this is hardly the same as saying they glorified child abuse, is it?

Eats like Elvis, shits like De Niro (Tom D.), Friday, 20 December 2013 14:01 (twelve years ago)

he wasn't glorifying it tho, the same as he never glorified serial murder, misogyny, sexual violence, fascism etc

I think it's fairly clear he isn't

my father will guide me up the stairs to bed (anagram), Friday, 20 December 2013 14:18 (twelve years ago)

Re the leg: one of those c4 documentaries had someone having had 'extreme tatoos' with scenes of rape, various etc.. So yeah I can believe it.

Mark G, Saturday, 21 December 2013 09:23 (twelve years ago)

that pic was doing the rounds approx 24 hours after the relevant quote started getting reported so even if you assume that someone instantly leapt from their computer chair and sprinted to the nearest tattoo parlour I don't think it would have healed like that

the issue of the pixels can be tackled by someone else I'm sure

Rich trust funder got probation for raping his 3 year old daughter. He also raped his infant son apparently.

Tracy Richards, who confronted her then-husband, told police he admitted abusing his daughter but said "it was an accident and he would never do it again," the warrant said.

vile rotarian squibs denied comeuppance by complicit lawgivers; tale as old as the elitist abuse of children

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Monday, 31 March 2014 23:55 (twelve years ago)

john du pont seems to be something of an outlier in his family insofar as an interest in the ornithological indicates a mind driven by concerns other than psychopathy. of course this led to 2 things:

a) his regression to the mean was more openly violent than other family members'
b) as an at least partial opt-out from the cadre he was not covered by the corrupt legal guarantees of the state of delaware

one less prisoner to be extorted, beaten and raped

goole, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:14 (twelve years ago)

i believe in clemency & forgiveness in 90% of cases where the law does not, especially where drugs and/or peer pressure are involved

this scumfuck deserves neither & the world may do unto him as it chooses imo. seems something of a scandal and a shame that it has been denied such a direct crack at him. obv ideally he would go to prison, face his own monstrosity and fall into the sort of torturous psychological mania that corporate entitlement and occultist rite aim to protect their progeny from as they go about their acts of brutal & repugnant supremacy

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:19 (twelve years ago)

american criminal justice is a sewer though, some countries (although not the uk which has an unequal extradition treaty in favour of america) have refused to extradite crims there because of the likelihood of human rights violations, goole is correct in that judges should be more willing to query what happens to the people they imprison even if it's usually a privilege afforded only to the white & moneyed

coruscating fuckboys the lot of em

boxall, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:31 (twelve years ago)

since you got pissy abt that before, 'coruscating' is in ref to adjectival clichés, never used unironically

maxresdefault.jpg (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:39 (twelve years ago)

the miscarriage of justice is not just that this guy will escape much punishment but that incarceration is so grotesque here that someone thought the best thing was for him to stay out of it

goole, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:41 (twelve years ago)

there was a lot of cognitive dissonance in the furore around the ethan couch case, 'what would happen if this underage dui killer was poor/a minority/etc', sort of aware that what is likely to happen to an underage kid in a texas prison is not really just either

maxresdefault.jpg (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:46 (twelve years ago)

re the lostprophets rapist -- his ex girfriend who complained to police about him is now charged with sex offences

maxresdefault.jpg (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:49 (twelve years ago)

put him in a room with mirrored walls and ceiling. feed him & provide him hygiene facilities. let him contemplate himself.

in all seriousness, the corrupt incarceration system is surely in a large part to blame for the rotten prison culture, and complete overhauls of sentencing are the only way to prevent prisons from becoming cesspits of cruelty

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:51 (twelve years ago)

lol

maxresdefault.jpg (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:52 (twelve years ago)

i know, not gonna happen (or if anything they'll get worse)

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 00:54 (twelve years ago)

i think a reduction in sentencing drug-related offenders to prison and a consequent reduction in prison overpopulation would go a long ways

yeah, so what I said

espring (amateurist), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:05 (twelve years ago)

ha

plenty already on ilx (much of it iirc courtesy of harbl) about the prison economy & why it means that sentencing will not relent any time soon

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:07 (twelve years ago)

yup

espring (amateurist), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:08 (twelve years ago)

that mirrored walls and ceiling thing sounds like an acute form of psychological torture, i hope no latterday ceaucescus and pahlavis are reading i love music

like bentham's panopticon, which it uncannily inverts, it demonstrates how 'humane' corrective methods that attempt to encourage self-reflection tend towards the sinister

maxresdefault.jpg (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:12 (twelve years ago)

it's one of those staring-you-in-the-face bits of etymology - that the radical, humane idea in imprisonment 200 years ago was a building designed to encourage prisoners to be penitent

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_State_Penitentiary

goole, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:37 (twelve years ago)

haha I would have no expectation other than autogenerative torture for such an arrangement. really though I can only attempt to convey the futility of dealing with (or considering how to deal with) such a criminal in any rational manner

halber mensch halber keks (imago), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 01:38 (twelve years ago)

that mirrored walls and ceiling thing sounds like an acute form of psychological torture

was abt to say I do appreciate that I can click on this thread and find an ilx-y take on the "I'd fucking sew his asshole closed and keep feeding him" type sentiment that lit up my FB feed in the Christmas runup

From Tha Crouuuch To Da Palacios (DJ Mencap), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 07:31 (twelve years ago)

LOL at "America doesn't punish elites!" Europe doesn't CONVICT elites, does convict everyone else accused by the cops, guilty or not.

Show me a criminal justice system that works. I prefer the one that occasionally deliberately acquits people whose guilt have not been proven, but they all stink.

Lobbyists for the private prison company GEO Group convinced lawmakers to include almost $1 million extra in funding despite the fact that the Arizona Department of Corrections claimed the money wasn’t needed.

Late last Friday, Arizona House Appropriations Chairman John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills) placed the extra funding into the budget because GEO Group’s lobbyists informed him that the company wasn’t profiting enough off of emergency beds it provides Arizona prisons.

It looks like in the face of unassailable guilt she is trying the old absolute bollocks "doing it for a noble reason" Pete Townsend defence.
