Oh my god, that spreadsheet would've made my life so much easier when I was doing mine.

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Thursday, 31 October 2013 16:57 (twelve years ago)

should be linked at the top of this thread imo

R. Kelly has been extended a bit: "Anyway bummmmp and also here to extend this until next Friday the 15th cos I need the time."

take all the time you need and God speed.

in the past most voting thread have been open for only around 10 days give or take, outside the non-artist polls. so to keep this thing moving a bit can we limit artist polls to around 10 days or so of open voting. thanks!

Bee OK, Thursday, 7 November 2013 03:52 (twelve years ago)

both R. Kelly and Velvet Underground results are starting on Monday, maybe...

anyways, kornrulez i think you can open Elvis Costello voting when ready.

Bee OK, Sunday, 17 November 2013 04:04 (twelve years ago)

I'm still working on my disco ballot. Now you're gonna make me work on Costello at the same time? Damn, that's just mean.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 17 November 2013 08:42 (twelve years ago)

I hesitate to stick my nose back in just a little bit without sticking it all the way back in, but wouldn't EC be a good way to pick back up in the new year after a hiatus for the best-of-2013 voting?

He got...JACKED UP!!!!! (WilliamC), Sunday, 17 November 2013 14:46 (twelve years ago)

don't the year end-polls usually run from like late December to late January? seems like plenty of time to run something else between now and then rather than wait til Feb, if someone wanted to run something, i dunno.

oh god for a second there i read that as Clapton and I kinda panicked.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Sunday, 17 November 2013 15:33 (twelve years ago)

EOY nominations go through to the end of December, so there's definitely time for someone to do a rollout before Christmas.

famous for hits! (seandalai), Sunday, 17 November 2013 16:41 (twelve years ago)

Ah, I definitely misremembered the hiatus periods then.

POLL IN THE KITCHEN, OVER BY THE STOVE — R. Kelly artist poll RESULTS

twist boat veterans for stability (k3vin k.), Monday, 18 November 2013 18:12 (twelve years ago)

Just fyi for current and upcoming poll runners: the ILM EOY year poll nominations thread will post on Monday December 16, so that's kind of the cutoff for starting other new polls (polls already in progress can conclude during the nominations period).

Johnny Fever, Monday, 18 November 2013 22:27 (twelve years ago)

Good to know! When does EOY voting start/end?

famous for hits! (seandalai), Monday, 18 November 2013 22:42 (twelve years ago)

We usually do 3 weeks for noms and 2 weeks for voting, iirc. That would put the end of noms/beginning of voting on January 6 and then the end of voting on January 17 will the tracks results starting on January 20 and albums results starting on January 27.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 18 November 2013 22:46 (twelve years ago)

*with the tracks starting...

Johnny Fever, Monday, 18 November 2013 22:47 (twelve years ago)

That works for me.

Can you put me down for Wu-Tang Clan at 103?

Spottie, Thursday, 21 November 2013 04:38 (twelve years ago)

kornrulez are you able to run Elvis Costello now?

Bee OK, Thursday, 21 November 2013 04:41 (twelve years ago)

sure Spottie, next update.

Bee OK, Thursday, 21 November 2013 04:41 (twelve years ago)

and LeRooLeRoo you should sign up for Siouxsie, please.

Bee OK, Thursday, 21 November 2013 04:47 (twelve years ago)

Bee OK, I can do it now. Could somebody with experience running one of these reach out with a little advice on best practices?

TC Being at g mail

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 21 November 2013 04:52 (twelve years ago)

bravo spottie - I swear I write and delete the Wu post every couple of months. officially stoked and there will be (probably?) be more material to work with by the time it rolls. Could be a crazy one if solo records/tracks count.

resulting post (rogermexico.), Thursday, 21 November 2013 17:45 (twelve years ago)

yeah I'm def thinking solo albums of the main crew and maybe a couple outliers (i.e. Killah Priest - Heavy Mental) included but we'll see. We could do a Ghostface poll on his own so idk tho.

Spottie, Thursday, 21 November 2013 17:48 (twelve years ago)

anytime you are ready kornrulez6969, also sent you an email...

Bee OK, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:23 (twelve years ago)

also adding myself to do Shoegaze/White Noise poll.

Bee OK, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:26 (twelve years ago)

i'm guessing Roxy M will fall sometime early next year, right?

charlie h, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:27 (twelve years ago)

correct

Bee OK, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:28 (twelve years ago)

Elvis Costello will close out 2013.

Bee OK, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:28 (twelve years ago)

xps Moka did a shoegaze/dreampop poll two or three years ago.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 28 November 2013 02:58 (twelve years ago)

thanks for that Johnny Fever found it: ILM's Best Shoegaze / Dream Pop / Post-rock TRACKS poll - RESULTS THREAD

so i'm still going to do it and Dream Pop is the word i was looking for instead of White Noise. that was for singles only, so this one will be for albums. though Loveless will win it will still be very interesting.

Bee OK, Thursday, 28 November 2013 03:10 (twelve years ago)

Bee - how about albums *and* EPs? (as discussed at the time)

Tiger City of Culture (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Friday, 29 November 2013 18:47 (twelve years ago)

yeah, that's a very good idea. will do EPs as well.

Bee OK, Saturday, 30 November 2013 00:15 (twelve years ago)

Did the Costello thread go up yet?

Johnny Fever, Monday, 2 December 2013 23:27 (twelve years ago)

paging kornrulez6969 please start Elvis Costello when you can!

Bee OK, Thursday, 5 December 2013 02:24 (twelve years ago)

charlie h, when you do roxy/ferry can you separate out the two in the results as shakey did with vu?

Iago Galdston, Thursday, 5 December 2013 02:28 (twelve years ago)

Ok. I'm going to start it now

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 5 December 2013 03:12 (twelve years ago)

Now I'm a Shabby Poll: Dig the ILM Elvis Costello Poll

Bee OK, Friday, 6 December 2013 16:31 (twelve years ago)

...AND THE BEAT GOES ON! The GRAND ILM DISCO POLL results are revealed!

Bee OK, Friday, 6 December 2013 16:32 (twelve years ago)

Iago, yeah i think that's how i'll do it. would definitely be a more cohesive approach, while allowing for Roxy and Ferry to be reflected as two distinct entities.

charlie h, Tuesday, 10 December 2013 13:21 (twelve years ago)

There is an outside chance I'll need to delay the PF poll down a few weeks, but I'll update as necessary.

(the reason for this I'll eventually get to on the Aging Parents thread, but I'm still in the middle of it so-to-speak)
