in the past most voting thread have been open for only around 10 days give or take, outside the non-artist polls. so to keep this thing moving a bit can we limit artist polls to around 10 days or so of open voting. thanks!

I hesitate to stick my nose back in just a little bit without sticking it all the way back in, but wouldn't EC be a good way to pick back up in the new year after a hiatus for the best-of-2013 voting?

don't the year end-polls usually run from like late December to late January? seems like plenty of time to run something else between now and then rather than wait til Feb, if someone wanted to run something, i dunno.

Just fyi for current and upcoming poll runners: the ILM EOY year poll nominations thread will post on Monday December 16, so that's kind of the cutoff for starting other new polls (polls already in progress can conclude during the nominations period).

Good to know! When does EOY voting start/end?

We usually do 3 weeks for noms and 2 weeks for voting, iirc. That would put the end of noms/beginning of voting on January 6 and then the end of voting on January 17 will the tracks results starting on January 20 and albums results starting on January 27.

bravo spottie - I swear I write and delete the Wu post every couple of months. officially stoked and there will be (probably?) be more material to work with by the time it rolls. Could be a crazy one if solo records/tracks count.

yeah I'm def thinking solo albums of the main crew and maybe a couple outliers (i.e. Killah Priest - Heavy Mental) included but we'll see. We could do a Ghostface poll on his own so idk tho.

so i'm still going to do it and Dream Pop is the word i was looking for instead of White Noise. that was for singles only, so this one will be for albums. though Loveless will win it will still be very interesting.

Iago, yeah i think that's how i'll do it. would definitely be a more cohesive approach, while allowing for Roxy and Ferry to be reflected as two distinct entities.

There is an outside chance I'll need to delay the PF poll down a few weeks, but I'll update as necessary.

(the reason for this I'll eventually get to on the Aging Parents thread, but I'm still in the middle of it so-to-speak)
