i remember when a i a came out, boomkat making them £20 each; this isn't even necessarily an example of the most explosive upselling or anything but at the same time it's such a bummer considering that her records seem to be produced according to this awkward but idealistic ecosystem in which they're small-run but reliably re-pressed affordable lps

Just in at Volcanic Tongue, have tried to order. They said it was on on their Instagram 4 hours ago so am hopefulish. £10.99 for a 7" but fuck it.

Really liking the Raum record - Liz Harris with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma who used to be in Tarantel and who also runs the Root Strata label iirc

That sounds cool, have seen people here and there saying that the record is good but didn't know who was behind it. May try to track that down.

i think i read a mirroring interview where they talk about listening to a lot of julee cruise before making the record. & it is such a totally crazy lens to look at the record through! like it sorta sounds a lot like it while being just so not.

Ruins is hitting the spot for me at the moment. The little details like the restarting of the track on Clearing, or keeping the stove beeeeeeep (which I almost always think is my own) near the end of Labyrinth add lovely touches to the album.

"Disengaged" came up on our shuffle yesterday and my wife's old friend (who is visiting) was immediately enthralled, it sounded esp. great out of context.

Looking forward to hearing the new one with vinyl crackles after 1 am. Her music just isn't the same to me without those two things. Is that silly? Listening to AIA all through tonight and it sounds incredible.
