young people tend to listen to the absolute worst crap out there, except for about once every 20 years or so when they actually get it right. and even then, the music they like is usually made by people older than them. fuck young people.

i definitely have a high-quality digital copy of "dead eye" somewhere. have you ever heard the single baby ford did for force tracks mehlt? it's right up close to "dead eye" and "bad friday" imo. great for doubles.

actually beatport has "dead eye" as it was re-released on plus 8 in 2006 so i'm not gonna upload it unless you convince me that you are starving and can't afford $1.49 for a 320kbps mp3.

As for the force tracks 12", the place I usually get my used records has it, and I've been meaning (and have actually had it in my hand ready to take to the cash register more than once) for like half a year. I always seem to find something at the last minute that I prefer, though. Great deep techno, though. I'd get inspired and go buy it in the next few days, but I'm in a different city and won't be back for 5 weeks :S

i am in the unfortunate position of both having a sister who is 22 and being in school with many 18-22 year olds. i know exactly what young kids listen to, and it is some bullshit. of course when i was that age, almost everyone i knew was listening to bullshit as well.

you can come up with your 19 year olds who listen to jamal moss, but it doesnt change my point: i don't feel the need to have my musical taste justified by some young kid who doesn't know shit. if kids want to be down, there is nothing stopping them. but to try to cater towards them is pretty stupid, and worthless. i would rather people who have opinions that don't change with the weather and who have a good knowledge of music and experience listening to many things be into dance music.

Picked up a 1997 label comp on Multiplex Records this week for $2! Anyone know anything about this Danish label? Haven't had a chance to listen to it all yet but the Stasis track is pure class. Dan Curtin and Morgan Geist also represented.

i don't disagree. i just don't see the input and participation of young people as anything that will change house and techno music. if anything, the transient nature of their taste will serve to hype it up temporarily, then leave it for dead when they move on. i don't think that will help things at all, really.

if they want to like good music and be down, that is fine with me. i just think that waiting for some youth movement to inject the scene with energy is a waste of time. i think that an older crowd has been what has kept dance music alive and well in most US cities.

Panthers - Goblin City (Holy Ghost! extended disco dub)

This is good it's got a real nice 54 disco flavour with dead eyed post punk vocals Rush guitar parts. Gets progressively more skinny tie as it goes on, in a really good way. Reminds me a bit of Gray.

That's one I wanna hear.
