To be entirely fair, the reapers were established as being in cars, so they could be passing through on their way from - or to - some other, spoooooookier part of town. The locals may not be that helpful.

Sometimes when I hear music from a car that I really like in my neighborhood, I ask someone walking by if they have any idea what it is. If they don't, I try to remember some lyrics and google them later.
I swear burt_stanton, I live in a worse neighborhood than you. Just find some unscary looking dudes (local pot sellers maybe???? or some teenager girls???) and ask them.
