whenever a major popstar (and sometimes even minor popstar!) posts anything on twitter, there is almost always someone replying with "Come To Brazil!"

If Katy's career has more legs than Gags', it's only because she's offers no surprises and her focus is on "hits", and not advancing any kind of musical/cultural discourse. That's acceptable to a lot of people. Gags has a habit of pretending to think, which turns a lot of the populace off, but it makes the spectacle that is her fame way more interesting to watch, imo. Gaga has always known she wasn't going to last at the top and the public would cannibalize her, judging from the theme of her albums/songs/performances. I just don't think she was prepared for the reality.

okay some of the itunes festival songs sounded really good, particularly "manicure" and "sex dreams"

Yeah I was kind of resigned to being indifferent to most of the songs here after Applause, but I really liked a fair bit of what I heard. Very Pat Benatar in some spots. Also the lyrics are ridiculous in the right ways (aka Gaga lyrics circa The Fame/Monster instead of Born This Way).

yeah i feel like her increasingly flailing approach to singles doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on the album's chances of being good. Born This Way was easily better than the title track and "Judas" had people expecting.

I wonder if, if you spend so much of your life wearing little clothing, if it feels weird when you suddenly have to wear clothes. Like in "Fast Times," when Sean Penn walks into a restaurant, and then takes his shirt off? Just all topsy turvy? Does Gaga wake up in the morning, head to the dresser, then just say, eh, fuck it, and walk about in her undies all day?

people in their undies need to stop. in 10-20 years people will look back on this time and say 'hmm that was weird when everyone was in their undies all the time'

Gaga has spent most of her life clothed. New York winters are tough.
