Our music is easy to listen to, nothing complicated, just great, positive tunes, obviously influenced by core bands like the Beatles, Oasis, and the Stone Roses. But for me personally, we are all about the songs.

woof, Monday, 22 July 2013 18:06 (twelve years ago)

"Yea definitely, the industry’s a bit too squeaky clean, and has been for quite a bit now. Hopefully we can give it a kick up the arse. Especially with The Stones Rose(sic), and Noel Gallaghers new albums sort of taking off quite big, hopefully it will be a big surge and not just one band – a movement bringing guitar bands back. Hopefully we can be involved in that." Tom from The Modern Faces.

On April 9th the band released their double A-side ‘Pravda Scrolls”/ ‘Cynical Brother’ through their own Dirty Love label, songs which have achieved the descriptions ‘anthem’ and ‘epic’ respectively.

Yea I think they represent us the best as a band, you know a bit attitude, definite ballsiness and that’s exactly what we are about.

Selena Gomez is very Neotenous for Caucasoids (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Tuesday, 23 July 2013 12:13 (twelve years ago)

this reminds me of an email to the channel 4 teletext music pages circa 2001 in which someone complained about LADS pouring a plastic cup of piss on them at an oasis show, the way their audience comprised an awkward mixture of LADS and provincial ~indie~ dorks with extensive collections of SFA albums

so i look at these and try to imagine whether they would be pouring the piss or having pissed poured on them, except that i suspect the dialectic resolved itself somehow

On the Makerfield campaign trail Burnham said he was a big fan of Christy Moore. Christy was detained in 2004 (while Burnham was a backbench Labour MP) at the UK border under anti-terrorism legislation and questioned about the content of his song lyrics. I wonder whether Burnham will reflect on this and current events.

AlanSmithee, Tuesday, 23 June 2026 11:00 (one week ago)

There is a lot of that shit going on these days, I doubt Burnham cares a jot - he will pick fashionable causes that serve his career. It's interesting that Paul Mason was attacking RLB as a Catholic Labour candidate and posting that we don't want the Pope dictating Labour's reproductive healthcare policies and yet he's on Burnham's without a word about him being a Catholic.

Very similar to Noel Gallagher's rebellious jukebox for Melody Maker. At the time I remember someone saying, it looked like he bought his music exclusively at petrol station cd stands
