this album is an intentionally hollow lifeless piece of shit. Get Lucky is the Magic Carpet Ride of our young decade. I thought HAA was taking the piss but boy did they show us

100% of the noises on this record just make me want to spin up christopher cross, steely dan and hall+oates with a splash of ye olde weather report - or one of those curated "disco rarities!" 2CD comps from 2005
because any of those would be an improvement - and the worst part is that I feel certain that DP intended for me to feel that way - which is also kind of hilarious and awesome in the OK HA HA YOU GOT ME sense

but yeah basically this whole record can go fuck itself and I hate all of it

GL was lol catchy the first time it got stuck in my head. After that it dawned on me that I got took. There's not a lot I enjoy less than feeling like a chump

I unliked Nile Rogers and Giorgio Moroder on facebook yesterday.

i dig the robot voices on a purely aesthetic level... the ostentatious ugliness of it all. but they're not, like, "fun" or "pleasant" to listen to. they don't work on this shit. weirdly ugly robot vox are better than shitty human vox though, i guess.

most of this album would be a big improvement if it was as fun as "Magic Carpet Ride"

I think I would have enjoyed this album more if they'd bumped the BPMs up by at least 10 across the board on the first 9 tracks

it's not that I don't like MCR, it's more like it makes me feel like I need to shove some kind of diminished epi-pen into my forehead to offset the D C G A barf
so it's more like an allergy
