Xpost Clash didn't hide "Train in Vain," it was added after the art was done!

Would "Train in Vain" be considered a hidden track? I was under the impression it was written and recorded in a few days after the London Calling sessions had ended, and the artwork had already gone to the printers so they couldn't add it on.

Something else I love about the Clash is how they were a band that most certainly did not simply replicate the studio versions live. I totally love that they knew how to shape up in the studio, but when they played they were ragged, sloppy and raw in all the best ways.

Next one has the lowest number of votes in the Top 10, but curiously, no #1s.

That wasn't one of the ones I was thinking of--didn't even know it was that beloved. Then again, Give 'em Enough Rope was always the one (proper) Clash record I could never fully embrace.

i came to rope last of all for some reason and with low expectations. i knew tommy gun and english civil war and nothing else. this opener floored me instantly. i have a vivid memory of just snapping to attention.

janie jones my highest track from the first album, similar to the other best songs on there but just more somehow. lucky lady!

Safe European Home sounds like terror, pulls off the weird trick of being both contemptuous and sympathetic to its point of view, and uses the structure of a novelty song to create something very fucking serious. It was my number three.

From the numbers, is Straight to Hell the most voted for song?

"Straight to Hell" is one of the best jukebox songs of all time. You can bring a bar to its knees with that one (plus it goes on for a while, so you get your credit's worth)

I know Train in Vain wasn't really hidden, which is why i used quote marks, but people used to call it a hidden track as it wasn't on the cover tracklist.
Bummed that Safe European Home wasn't top 3 at least.
