shamefully - and god knows why - this is the only Benny's recent ukg-related mix i haven't checked out yet

when i saw the tracklist i was puzzled/intrigued by the omission of several HUGE tunes that have become available between the two Lorenzo volumes ("Money Cant Bye It"! "Shake It"! "Stronger Than Me"! "Moving Closer"! "Trouble"!) - guess i'm so used to a somewhat sturdy consensus on key jackin tunes that i tend to forget that not everyone has to have the same taste as me? or maybe the mixmaster just wants to keep a few aces up his sleeve for the third volume, who knows ;)

"Kneadin" is the biggest tune not included IMO. Also some days my tune of 2013.

i sse now i've got(and adore) 'trouble', was an oversight i guess. there really is just too many great tunes to keep track of

well there's certainly much less great '& Lorenzo' tunes now that Cause & Affect have crossed over to the semi-big leagues but the C&A 2013 output makes up for it big time imo

btw i *super* enjoy dipping into the 2:31 rinse shows every now and then... on the face of it C&A would appear to be the weaker link, what with them tending to play the same tunes over and over again, but it's really at its best when both them and Shorterz are at it - Shorterz always has a superb warmzy selection but struggles ramping the energy levels up, C&A bits bang but they can't do groovy warm-up to save their lives, put them together and it's magic

Haha that take on 2:31 is both something I actually agree with and structurally designed for me to agree with (like I would assume it was correct even if I'd never heard a 2:31 set).

the craic is from datwun at dissensus is lorenzo engineers all of shorterz' tunes as well, for some reason he doesn't get credited as collaborator.

perfectly human to lose track of the constant stream of aceness lorenzo's involved in tbf - plus ime it's quite common with a lot of jackin for the functional genius not to scream itself out on first skim (take for instance, idk, 'rude boy' or '21' or something - you see what it is immediately but feel it only in situ)

also search out cause & affect ft jamie george 'another time', and most pleasingly the new hw&l remix of jessie ware 'confess to me' which is no fireworks iirc but perfectly corrects the original into just what you wanted it to be

it's great on 2:31 when they have occasional little moodpiece periods of playing this stuff together... you have all this house n bass mayhem and then you just absentmindendly drift off for a little uneasy while
