karl, you could probably just get an RCA-1/8" to plug that into your 'puter. then record in audacity, which is free.

i was thinking that, but the only line in i have into my pc is for a mic, is that the same as any other? (i know nothing about audio tech stuff)

yeah that should work

um that would sound kinda shitty iirc. mic is not line in. get an audio interface. you can find an ok one (2 ins 4 outs imo) for < 200. i love the focusrite 2i4 because i can digitize vinyl and supposedly it has good preamps. n.b it doesn't have the riaa phono to line eq but dj mixers do so

i mean you would get a signal through your mic in but i think the dac on your soundcard isn't designed for a line level, think you'd probably get weird levels and digital distortion going on, which ymmv
