Capracara has a new single out on DFA, "King of the Witches" with a Rub N Tug remix. He's previously had a single on Soul Jazz "Flashback 86 / Opal Rush" which were very 80s sounding acid house tracks.

one month passes...

i dig this new capracara track. and the rub n tug remix is even better- that vocal sample is sorta seals the deal

lots of goodies on that page!

wonder what else DFA have up their sleeves for the year. more juan maclean remix stuff maybe? white labels of the 'one day' remixes are out there in the ether. (i think they picked the romboy, emperor machine and surkin mixes for the 12".) there is that new gavin russom project too.

oh, pregnantpaws (haitch), Wednesday, 22 April 2009 04:49 (seventeen years ago)

Shannon Whirry & the Bad Brains, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 09:27 (seventeen years ago)

People should check out Gavin Russom's Britney remix on his myspace. It's ace.

Number None, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

I'm really eager to hear the new Still Going and I can't wait to pick up that Juan Maclean record on vinyl. Nice to see the rest of the year looks like it is pretty much in the bag already.

visitation, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 15:08 (seventeen years ago)

also a distinct lack of invisible conga people :( i swear i read that somewhere.

but yes the news of another still going is pretty exciting. tho it has a LOT to live up to after the last 12", house of house, c.o.m.b.i., etc

fuck an Ian Svenonious vocal, Holy Ghost dropped their new tune at the Juan MacLean show and --I shit you not-- Michael McDonald sings the hook!

i played the DJ Kaos single (the Tiedeye remix) last week and three separate girls came up to ask about it. the Walter Jones is hot as well.

beta blog, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but were the girls hot

i am the eye in the sky... (psychgawsple), Wednesday, 22 April 2009 19:02 (seventeen years ago)

it's not recognizing that the final period is part of the link. I think if type that on the end it works.

dmr, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

omg @ the vocals/ lyrics on that kaos song. i think c.o.m.b.i. is eric duncan .... and another dude? http://www.myspace.com/combireleased

jaime, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 19:54 (seventeen years ago)

that britney remix is so rad. need more music from that dude

just sayin, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 20:14 (seventeen years ago)

the black meteoric star/gavin russom beats in space is still available and makes me salivate for these purported actual releases

i am the eye in the sky... (psychgawsple), Wednesday, 22 April 2009 20:23 (seventeen years ago)

wowowow at everything on gavin russom's myspazz! really love the dundov and spears rmxes especially

lex pretend, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 20:52 (seventeen years ago)

the Dundov remix is fucking amazing. totally worth buying on 12" too - sleeve and slab are both stunning-looking

jamescobo, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 21:23 (seventeen years ago)

britney taken off russomspace already?

Bostin' Legal (sic), Thursday, 23 April 2009 05:28 (seventeen years ago)

or is myspace restricting content by country now

parmas never visit nightclubs (electricsound), Thursday, 23 April 2009 05:37 (seventeen years ago)

the dundov track is gone too. that one was ridiculously amazing.

(jaxon) ( .) ( .) (jaxon), Thursday, 23 April 2009 05:58 (seventeen years ago)

dundov record is the best i have bought this year.

oh, pregnantpaws (haitch), Thursday, 23 April 2009 06:52 (seventeen years ago)

those tracks might still be on his facebook page, that's where i listened to them

just sayin, Thursday, 23 April 2009 07:36 (seventeen years ago)

Dundov remix is awesome, golden 12", literally :)
It was the centrepiece of the set James Holden spun at Doornroosje, Nijmegen/NL last month. Can provide a link tonight if anyone's interested.

The Britney remix is (almost) played in full at the start of a mix that I got through the DFA forum (I Feel Eclectic/Electric iirc). I forget the dj...
I always start singing the "I wanna be your dog" lyrics, slowed down, over that remix. Fits perfectly.

willem, Thursday, 23 April 2009 07:38 (seventeen years ago)

A little bit of googling and you should be able to find that Dundov remix

Jamie T Smith, Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:30 (seventeen years ago)

that britney rmx had better re-emerge at some point

lex pretend, Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:47 (seventeen years ago)

the dundov remix IS amazing. i recently played it at watergate in berlin and people started booing. mnml idiots.

stirmonster, Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:53 (seventeen years ago)

that is sort of funny to be fair. and weird...wtf. I guess watergate is that bit more mnml than panorama bar.

Local Garda, Thursday, 23 April 2009 09:54 (seventeen years ago)

you can find that holden set here. two minutes into part two is where the dundov/russom wobbles in...

willem, Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:10 (seventeen years ago)

booing at the dundov remix?!?!?

just sayin, Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:12 (seventeen years ago)

i just read somewhere that gavin russom used to have an 8 minute plus cover of Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl' up on his myspace, did anyone hear this??

just sayin, Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:24 (seventeen years ago)

Not really feeling that Britney remix - I don't think he does enough with it and Piece of Me doesn't remix particularly well anyway. He should have had a crack at something like Breathe On Me that lends itself to epic wibble.

Enormous Epic (Matt DC), Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:31 (seventeen years ago)

I'm really liking the Dundov mix though, but I also like the Dundov album in all its silly unfashionable glory.

Enormous Epic (Matt DC), Thursday, 23 April 2009 10:32 (seventeen years ago)

thought dude above was kidding about m mcdonald ...
