Love the progginess and easy listening nods and the winks at acid jazz. Panda bear one is after a few listens maybe the weakest but maybe I'll come around. Perfect album for driving the freeway at midnight en route to the airport to pick your lady up from a transcontinental flight.

I bought the album, I wanted to be a part of it all.

Bought it, but wishing I'd bought the Japanese version just because "Horizon" is a really great coda--should've at least been on the standard vinyl release, where surely there was room across two LPs.

Only within the last week or two have I finally heard "Get Lucky" on the radio.

Really? Wow.

It was all over Italian radio when we were in Sardinia at the end of May, and feels like it's been on UK radio all the time.

Sonically "Get Lucky" doesn't fit into US Top 40 radio playlists as well as UK/Euro radio.

As someone with no experience of US playlists, why is this?

Yeah the closest company it currently has is Bruno Mars' Treasure and Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.

Some of it probably also has to do with the fact that Daft Punk had no previous footprint on Top 40 radio in the U.S.? I mean, Rihanna and Adele and Bruno Mars can get plenty of airplay with slow piano ballads, so it's not like it's thumping club beats all the time.

This isn't really that true anymore! I've been listening to commercial radio the past couple weeks for the first time in months and I've been surprised how little EDM-pop I hear and most of what I do is old. The only song in the current top 20 that even kind of qualifies is "I Love It".

That said, I've been hearing "Blurred Lines" on the radio way more than "Get Lucky".

Get Lucky is not gonna be the runaway hit of the summer guys.

"Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines" are #6 and #8 respectively on the most recent radio songs chart, I expect the latter will shoot way up in this week's. "Treasure" is #11.

I dunno, it feels really ersatz to me in a way "Get Lucky" should but doesn't. That's kind of a problem Bruno Mars always has and always will have.

I include "#Beautiful" in that list of Get Lucky's contemporaries.

"#beautiful" is a million times the song "get lucky" will ever be but (SADLY AND UNFORTUNATELY) is not proving to be anything like a hit of the summer, which "get lucky" already is

I savor so hard whenever Beautiful, Get Lucky and Treasure just happen to get played in succession on the radio.

I'm fond of all the disco in the charts right now: "Treasure," "Blurred Lines," "Get Lucky," etc.

yeah I mean obviously "Treasure" is hella corny & pastiche-y & it's Bruno Mars but I still kinda dig it. it's flawed but it's not limp.

oh you're probably right! Glancing at the Billboard top twenty, I've heard maybe eight or nine locally. But Miami is saturated in Guettadom.

There isn't going to be a Song of the Summer this year, guys. And I there is, it's going to suck, guys.

Every time I read "song of the summer" I hear Giorgio saying "that could be a sound of the future".

I'd not heard "Get Lucky" on the radio until this week, and this week I heard it four times. I've not yet heard that new Bruno Mars, somehow, nor the Mariah Carey.
