i guess thats kinda the point??? the idea is to put this typical white nerd rapper and push him on gangsta grillz dudes instead of fallout boy stans

and what, Monday, 16 February 2009 05:59 (seventeen years ago)

that's what i'm saying, he's being marketed as the funny white dude from rap videos. he's basically the living embodiment of the 'becky voice'

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Monday, 16 February 2009 06:01 (seventeen years ago)

yeah im just used to this bein on some avoidable bloodhound gang 99x ish instead of fuckin up my attempts to listen to normal rap music

and what, Monday, 16 February 2009 06:02 (seventeen years ago)

i think the worst part is reading other message boards where dudes are defending asher roth like "you havent heard his DEEP VERSES yet youve only heard the pop crossover stuff" & then they mean verses like that one from the video i posted

gucci mane gretzky (deej), Monday, 16 February 2009 06:03 (seventeen years ago)

why else would he be rapping about beer pong? he's for gangsta grillz cats what coke rappers are for white frat dudes who like jeezy "ironically"

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Monday, 16 February 2009 06:03 (seventeen years ago)

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Monday, 16 February 2009 06:04 (seventeen years ago)

nicolasmun13, thats so true, I'd love to see Wayne do that. Shit, that guy could write his lines BEFORE the battle and still get his ass handed to him by real freestylers like Eminem, Immortal Technique, Eyedea, Jin and Shad K

Dude is buoyant after a short stack of flapjacks. That's good enough for me.

u srs doggie? aint feelin the b.o.b. hype & the rap-about-spaceships line is dumb but that joint was 1 of my top 10 in 08 no lie

and what, Tuesday, 17 February 2009 23:04 (seventeen years ago)

yeah "generation lost" is really good

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 23:04 (seventeen years ago)

not feeling the 'dont listen to the radio rap is crap' kind of lines, it feels really undeserved

i dunno man. i was feeling that little rascals joint you sent, i like the beatles track, i liked the track w/ t.i. (although its kinda feeding into what i don't like about dude one the whole), this joint is like hes getting concepts from a rhymefest/ronson album, & the lest said about "I'll be in the Sky" the better

Those moves would be more acceptable from a guy who seemed like hed 'earned' them ... i mean its one thing when its andre talking about kids in white tees looking like their in nightgowns, its another when this dude is one minute spitting like hes on an even scale w/ t.i. & the next thinks hes better than all this other shit ... i dunno i find it really unlikeable

gucci mane gretzky (deej), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 02:12 (seventeen years ago)

unearned snobbery

gucci mane gretzky (deej), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 02:13 (seventeen years ago)

this is whats up though

gucci mane gretzky (deej), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 02:20 (seventeen years ago)

i don't really agree w/ the idea that you have to "participate" in something before you can operate outside or above it. its obv that he thinks his music is more noble or w/e but idk dude is 20, whatre you gonna do

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 02:23 (seventeen years ago)

big fatass rick ross kills it on that - i bet dude's album is going to be genuinely great

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 02:24 (seventeen years ago)

u crazy if you think an 11th hour remix for his worst song is gonna be bigger than "Donk" or "Yahhh!" or "Soulja Girl"

brainless popcorn (some dude), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:18 (seventeen years ago)

"turn my swag on" is dope - kills "whats up whats haapenin" in every way possible

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:19 (seventeen years ago)

wait what is even the basis of that comparison

brainless popcorn (some dude), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:21 (seventeen years ago)

slow crawling monolithic synth anthem w/ a whiney chorus, soulja boy says "whats up whats happenin" on his song, it was the first thing that came to my mind for some reason

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:25 (seventeen years ago)

also thought "turn my swag on" was produced by drumma boy

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:25 (seventeen years ago)

i don't think he did. "What's Up, What's Haapnin" is pretty fun imo.

brainless popcorn (some dude), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:27 (seventeen years ago)

he didn't i just looked it up, just someone biting him i guess

ya idk "whats up whats haapenin" always seemed like 8 mins long to me - i like t.i.'s singing voice usually but the way he draws out that hook plus how slow the verses are is almost torturous to me

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:31 (seventeen years ago)

the video makes it way more entertaining than it would otherwise be, i think

"Turn My Swag On" just hurts my ears, all hyperbole and cultural baggage aside Soulja Boy really does have an unpleasant voice

brainless popcorn (some dude), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:33 (seventeen years ago)

i kind of like the fact that it basically has no verses. also w/ the way he has fallen off numbers wise it sounds like a kind of idk sad lament or something - "when i was 9 years old, i put it in my head i'ma die for this gold"

big fatass rick ross (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:39 (seventeen years ago)
