I lament the gmailrequestification of ILM, but I understand, yes.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 7 October 2004 06:26 (twenty-one years ago)

why do you lament?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Thursday, 7 October 2004 08:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Because it's not very interesting to read.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 7 October 2004 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

But you make offers and get stuff in return too. And speaking of, Steve, you've fallen behind. Don't make me dump you for Ian ;-).

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 7 October 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I just prefer it if it stays on the mp3 request threads, but I guess that's unrealistic. Carry on.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 7 October 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

no, I agree, actually.

don't send me anything, please.

Ferg, get them off me on Ssk you cheeky tart. You're in my list so it shouldn't be a problem.

Affectian (Affectian), Thursday, 7 October 2004 21:31 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, I'll need everything but the Kaptein Kaliber mix, 'I WIll Get On', 'Just Friends', the Mylo mix, 'Chewing Gum', the extended 'Greatest Hit' and 'Heartbeat'. I also need 'Anniemal' (the track).

Nobody say nothing, I'm feeling the shame.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Annie, I'm so sorry.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 7 October 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

well i jumped onboard. grabbed the proper release for a mind numbingly normal £11.99 which was placed over the outrageous £13.99 sticker.
value for money. yup.
fuckin' love this stuff ..
wonder if the full release then will feature lots of bonus extras (dvd/remixes etc) a la Poly Spree album on 679 .. thus making us grab another copy ?

mark e (mark e), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, very good album. It'll go in the VV poll if I get the invite this year (I hope?).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

glad you like it ned, though i thought that if anyone would...

stelfox, Wednesday, 13 October 2004 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Pitchfork "We Are The World"ed 'Heartbeat' today.

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm glad it's so glowing, but I think it misses the bittersweetness inherent in the song.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

any word yet on a u.s. release?

reo, Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't believe I still don't have this yeat. Far too broke to even contemplate it (and many others - it seems the threads on all of these albums I desperately want (this, Tom Waits, Dizzee, Stina Nordenstam, Interpol) but can't afford keep getting bumped back up to spite me) GRAR.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

is the pitchfork site ever going to have a decent navigation menu together/NOT ugly squished graphic type for links?

Freelance Webdesigner (blueski), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:23 (twenty-one years ago)

annie underwhelms me a little, i like it in theory but it has yet to really win my heart.

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

me too, I've not given it a decent chance admittedly. also I've been listening to quite dark stuff lately.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the singles obviously.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

cristina.

cºzen (Cozen), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 19:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Is it even going to be released in the US? Ive seen bigger groups/more anticipated records never get released over here..

still bevens (bscrubbins), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't understand cozen's cryptic cristina comment. Is he comparing the two in some way?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Does she really say "schlepping" on "Me Plus One"?!?!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

No. 6 in Norway. Geir probably bought 10 copies to feed his melody habit.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

What's No.6? 'Chewing Gum'?

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Anniemal. Norwegian album chart!

JoB (JoB), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah ronan i like the singles too (but not quite love, i think... but maybe if it hits me at the right time, on the dancefloor or something, that will change)

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 13 October 2004 23:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Last night I dreamt Annie was a fundamentalist Christian.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 October 2004 07:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, anybody fancy gmailing me the singles? (Sorry N.!)

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Thursday, 14 October 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

she reminds me of a conservative cristina.

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 14 October 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

A fundamentalist cristina, surely.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 14 October 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

These are serious times. No place for Cristina and her clever irony.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 14 October 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Barima, gmail is go (apologies for the delay).

Affectian (Affectian), Thursday, 14 October 2004 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

the irony of the beholder.

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 14 October 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Thx, Ian, will do later.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Thursday, 14 October 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Gnomicozen.

I wish we still had the gmail list system. It could be filled with Annie, whom I like, I think. (I've never heard Chewing Gum though!)

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Thursday, 14 October 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Could anyone gmail me Chewing gum. Thanx.

jackthelad (daavid), Thursday, 14 October 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

so i saw the import in tower records today, they had quite a few copies. i think it's something like $23 dollars.

is it worth the price?

should i go back and get it?

reo, Sunday, 24 October 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

yes

Paul (scifisoul), Sunday, 24 October 2004 04:54 (twenty-one years ago)

yes once more

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 24 October 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

23 dollars? Right, brief calculations reveal that to be less than I paid for it. Go there.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Sunday, 24 October 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Paul, does Tower carry it on vinyl/have the singles? The only person in NY i know who has it got it at Rebel Rebel...

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Sunday, 24 October 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

'this is D this is I this is F F I...' hook from Me+1 now officially my favourite thing of year, possibly ever

Michael Philip Philip Philip Philip Philip Annoyman (Ferg), Sunday, 24 October 2004 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

isn't it '*mrs* d mrs i mrs f f i ' etc? sounds like it.
'this is..' doesn't make any sense.

anyone with the official version have the lyrix book?
indeed, does it *have one*?

piscesboy, Friday, 29 October 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i wouldn't pay $23 for any CD, even tho Anniemal is probably my favourite album this year. isn't it cheaper o'er ye interweb?

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 29 October 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

$23 = about £11.50; sounds a reasonable price to me.

hang on a minute, doesn't that lyrical schema spell "diffirent"?

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 29 October 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i didn't think it really was 2 dollars to the pound, how lovely

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 29 October 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's was "difficult"

sleep (sleep), Friday, 29 October 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)
