it's not generalized at all. the song -- which ffs is called "new slaves" -- makes the implication very specific. the opposite reading is the one that's generalized.

everyone gets the meaning you're talking about. it's a super-obvious additional meaning, the engine that gives the line metaphorical bite, that you are failing to admit for no reason i can understand.

to be clear, i'm not up in arms about the lyric per se, i'm just sick of people thinking their lack of personal offense over something like this means anything more than that they're either distanced or desensitized. also ironic coming from somebody who's written articles about the subject that get those "what's the big deal?" comments.

he'd rather be getting his dick sucked than be sucking some dick, is what he's saying. obviously like j0rdan says it's deeper than he doesn't want to suck dicks and has to be understood in the context of what the track is trying to say-- but i guess if it makes you feel uncomfortable, it makes you feel uncomfortable, even if you can listen past the surface meaning and i think everyone here is capable of that.

in the history of fucked up kanye lines, this one is mild and mediocre, too.

that's the thing "it's a metaphor" i get. "it's not offensive, because it's a metaphor" i don't. and yeah, the fact that people are bothering to defend a mediocre metaphor makes it rankle even more.
