Thomas Bloch: is a classical musician specializing in the rare instruments ondes Martenot, glass harmonica, and Cristal Baschet.
Chris Caswell: is a brilliant pianist and keyboard player, Chris is also proficient on accordian, bass, bass pedals and guitar across mutliple genres and musical styles. Credits include engineering for Muppets soundtracks, keyboard for Daft Punk, Bonnie Raitt, Bill Withers.
Nathan East: is a jazz, R&B and rock bass player and vocalist. He is a member of smooth jazz quartet Fourplay and has recorded, performed and co-written songs with performers such as Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Toto and Herbie Hancock.
James Genus: is an American jazz bassist. He plays both electric bass guitar and upright bass and currently plays in the Saturday Night Live Band.
Omar Hakim: is an American jazz, jazz fusion and pop music drummer. He has recorded with Miles Davis, Dire Straits, and Sting.
Paul Jackson Jr.: is a fusion/urban jazz composer, arranger, producer and guitarist. Has worked with Michael Jackson (session player for thriller and more), The Temptations, Whitney Houston, Thomas Anders, Patti LaBelle, Luis Miguel, Chicago, and Elton John.
Greg Leisz: is an American multi-instrumentalist, playing lap and pedal steel guitars, guitar and mandolin. Worked with Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Smashing Pumpkins, Bad Religion, Beck, Wilco.
Quinn: Is a recording artist, producer, composer, drummer, and percussionist (who is hard to find information about).
John "JR" Robinson: is a grammy winning American drummer and session musician. Credits include Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Eric Clapton.

Because it all started with that awful phenomenon of exclusive one time listening sessions for some journalists, way before the release date (or leak for that matter). they all wanted to crank out copy as fast as they could.

these listening sessions are the death of music journalism. no value to the listener, no value in it for the writer, just adding to the hype.

and because all these journalists already wrote their track-by-track reviews after only having heard it once, in an office building somewhere with 20 colleagues, they can't write another proper review of it.

(i know of one Dutch journalist, former ilxor, that asked the rec co to listen to get another listen, alone, on headphones, and they granted it)

All the reviews I've seen so far read like the reactions of people who have been locked in a room with no music for years, and this is the first thing they've heard since the door shut. OHMYGODI"MSHITTINGMYSELFTHIS IS SOOOOOOOOOOGOOD IVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE IT EVERY BEFORE AND EVEN IF I HAD THIS WOULD BE BETTER THAN THAT BECAUSE IT IS SOOOOOOOOOGOOOOD!

i agree with gr808. loving the hype, and glad that the album lives up to it. way better -- more complex; distinctive -- than human after all.

I'll say this: it's better than the Justin Timberlake, which arrived with virtually no hype. He should have hired Nile Rodgers, esteemed producer of INXS, Duran Duran and B-52s.

This album continues to make me yearn for Steely Dan's Aja and Gaucho ~ which is a very good thing. I can't point at individual songs, it's a ~feeling~.
