Daft Punk's Random Access Memories

OK, I prayed on it a little bit, and the lord has instructed me that this album kind of sucks. It's really just a well-produced pastiche: Alan Parsons, Goblin, Shakatak, Chic, etc. The vocalists are all red herrings, but it'd be hilarious if it sent the proverbial "kids today" back to Paul Williams. Was listening again with a buddy at his record store, and it really sounded like a bunch of interludes in search of songs.

jamiroquai is dope imo, i'm strongly considering buying the vinyl reishes of 'return of the space cowboy' and 'traveling without moving'

also i'll probably buy this album too, i don't think it's a classic like discovery or homework but it's fun and the peaks are worth it.

on my second listen through now, game of love is beautiful

xpost the full space cowboy just reminds me of being at parties smoking weed when someone's parents were away, aged 16, with a couple of friends talking about stuart zender or whatever his name is at length.

Not so oddly enough, the dj at the club I went last week played Get Lucky followed by Little L.

Mid-period 'quai is where it's really at though

there's this restaurant near me that's got this beautiful expansive patio covered with trees and is perpetually filled with beautiful people having conversations, but thing is the food sucks and they give you too much of it.
