hit of cheese is undeniable, good part up for debate

touch is the real standout here insofar as it's the most obvious piece of shit. the moroder track is vv good, game of love and instant crush better than that. i kinda like the panda bear one. the rest is kind of w/e.

the Panda Bear track runs out of inspiration after a minute but, yeah, otm, and the only context in which I wanna hear him.

I have listened to this record front to back 4 times now. Thoughts:

- It is melancholy, yet lascivious
- Robot blues, tears creeping down metal masks a lot of the time
- Love making
- Groovy, soul, intimate
- First-listen reviewers all over the world have failed HORRIBLE. Not one word about from them about the melancholy on this record.
- This record will be butchered on social media (because of the insane build up, that also gathered a lot of people otherwise not interested in DP into the "viral" (ugh) side of it)

expect it's gonna get hit hard by generation skrill

I think my dad might like Touch if he heard it, he listened to a lot of Three Dog Night and Chicago in the late 70s.

two tracks in, it is quite like tellier's sexuality, no problem with that at all, one of the best records of the last few years. arise guy man your time to get credit is finally here.

Fragments of Time is exceptional.

I really like Instant Crush but there are a couple of songs on the new Strokes album that would fit better on this album.

Lose Yourself to Dance is huge, maybe my favourite song so far.

i lost track of what's what but the instrumental arpeggio thing, possibly motherboard, is amazing.

"Fragments of Time" is my favorite -- not a bad Doobie Bros approximation.

I think that I got Motherboard and Beyond confused, Motherboard is this record's Voyager. The arpeggio one.

Dr Buzzard with really really thick Love Boat strings over the top. Too much coconut.

panda bear tune is pretty good, they actually hem him into a much more structured place than he's usually in.

overall this is feeling like a noble and ambitious slight miss to me. but i can imagine giving it a good few listens over the next couple of weeks.

This is OTM. For someone (Falcon) who hasn't laid anything into a groove for 10 years or so, this is beneath 'So much love to give' or 'Together'.

I did read just today he is working on new material though, a new EP/12". Which would be awesome.

Casablancas joint is my least fave after two listens. Panda Bear track kinda rules
