Daft Punk's Random Access Memories

Fragments of Time sounds like ten Fleetwood Mac songs microcut and thrown back together, the dominant vibe for the rest was for me kinda Steely Dan meets crossover-period Herbie Hancock. The last track turning into Iron Maiden, that I didn't expect.

for the record i am not particularly worked up

also i'd rather have people post negatively in threads about music i loved (which are plentiful! i post in them all the time!) instead of the usual tumbleweed, because seeing a range of opinions interests me

there's this restaurant near me that's got this beautiful expansive patio covered with trees and is perpetually filled with beautiful people having conversations, but thing is the food sucks and they give you too much of it.

I too am interested in a "range of opinions". You saying music is "boooooring/suuuuucks" is not very opinionated though, and that is your usual shtick in thread about music you don't like. You hadn't even HEARD the new Daft Punk album but already came marching in declaring your dread.

aside from the breakdown, "fragments of time" isn't doing it for me. like most of the rest, though, so maybe i'll come around.

French musicians seem obsessed with the 1970s to a pretty unhealthy degree. Other decades are available for inspiration.

I like Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories but I also enjoy the Alan Parsons Project so perhaps take my quick take with a grain of salt.

This isn't Steely Dan, this is Atlanta Rhythm Section covering Steely Dan.

touch is the real standout here insofar as it's the most obvious piece of shit. the moroder track is vv good, game of love and instant crush better than that. i kinda like the panda bear one. the rest is kind of w/e.
