Please don't laugh because I do not know the answer. I took my 2 year to an ophthalmologist because he was showing signs of a lazy eye.. After a very long exam doctor said he needs glasses. +6.50(r) +6.0(l) took him to get his rubber glasses and the eye care lady looked at the script and was like wow that is very strong. Now the only sign he is showing is the sometimes lazy eye... How sure are doctors, I mean how do they really know. I have never wore glasses and husband doesn't either so I am not familiar with the whole glasses process.. Please explain

lol DJP that is the opinion of a half dozen people I know, although possibly to the point of really enjoying Person Pitch and just not liking AC
― tweeship journey to 77 (mh), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:35 (thirteen years ago)
Lex, srsly, why do you spend half of your time speaking about music you find "boring" or "dire shit"? Vampire Weekend, now this. I just don't get it. Are you a masochist?
i don't? i listen to new releases that fall vaguely within my field out of curiosity/interest in keeping up/because it's sort of my job. and then i talk about them. i also rave about loads of new music, like every single day of my life! i'm sorry you only seem interested in the most boring obvious hype-releases tho

Wasn't expecting to like this Panda Bear track as much as I do, but here we are.

Do the PB haters also dislike 'Person Pitch' and 'Bros' in particular? If so, I feel bad for them.
two of the worst pieces of music ever recorded iirc
― flamenco drop (lex pretend), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:37 (thirteen years ago)
We get it Lex.
― Van Horn Street, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

'Contact' is a great track as well. I'm liking this.
― studyplenty, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:46 (thirteen years ago)
lex, when you get like this, your posts remind me a lot of the music of animal collective.

those first 100 seconds were really boring, though

― i, norbit (jaymc), Monday, 13 May 2013 21:55 (thirteen years ago)
It was nice of Daft Punk to make this particular Steely Dan fan a disco album. That's all, not looking for a fight.
― Josiah Alan, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:55 (thirteen years ago)
Will get filed in between my George Duke and Herbie records.
― Josiah Alan, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:56 (thirteen years ago)
I kinda can't wait to pick the sunniest point in the day and go for a walk around the neighborhood while listening to the back half of this.
― Greer, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:56 (thirteen years ago)
the italo parts of this sound to me like a poor version of alex moulton's ideas. the funk bits are sub paul hardcastle.
― the late great, Monday, May 13, 2013 3:43 PM (1 hour ago)
"motherboard" does sound like something off "exodus" i'll give you that, but not ~poor~ at all imo
― gr8080, Monday, 13 May 2013 21:57 (thirteen years ago)
i hear no steely dan in this whatsoever but hey

"fragments of time" is very steely dan

I hear more Toto than the Dan.

'Fragments of Time' one of the standouts so far. Indeed v Steely Dan/Yachty/10cc
What's a Steely Dan?
― Greer, Monday, 13 May 2013 22:01 (thirteen years ago)
Finished. I like this album quite a bit!
Keep in mind I like later Jamiroquai, and I was listening to Captain & Tenille and Tony Orlando & Dawn last night. Sounds like Daft Punk aren't interested in Dance Music (tm) anymore, and going more in the production/soundtrack/retro realm. Didn't Daft Punk say they loved Sebastian Tellier? Looking back at that statement, this album isn't as surprising.
― ma ck ro ma ck ro (mackro mackro), Monday, 13 May 2013 22:02 (thirteen years ago)
granted I only listened to 100 seconds of this before wandering back to Savages and Keep Shelley In Athens but "difficult" is the last word I would apply to those 100 seconds

― far too much asshole flesh (DJP), Monday, 13 May 2013 22:03 (thirteen years ago)
i haven't heard anything yet but i'm going to because i like expensively recorded drums played by expensive drummers.
― precious bonsai children of new york (Jordan), Monday, 13 May 2013 22:04 (thirteen years ago)
the julian casablancas one is great. i love how simple and straightforward most of these songs are, and how much pleasure daft punk are able to wring out of repetition. doin' it right sounds like a streamlined "bros" or something, and i like that.
― Treeship, Monday, 13 May 2013 22:04 (thirteen years ago)
I think I would be a little disappointed if they released a banging EDM album: Human After All 2.0, it's ok for them to age.
― Josiah Alan, Monday, 13 May 2013 22:05 (thirteen years ago)

Lex, I'm no Panda Bear fan either but please can you just stop. This is so tiresome, we all know how strongly you feel about him. Why are you wasting your time getting so angry about these bands? Is it fun for you to get so worked up ALL THE TIME? I'm not saying I want to read every one on here agreeing how great the album is but now you've listened to an album that you knew you would hate are we going to have to see you saying how this album sucks every day? You already told us you were going to hate this album a few weeks ago just looking at the track listing. Same for Vampire Weekend, if you hate them so much why do you feel the need to post on their thread so much?
